20.01.2022 Did you know you could be marketing your regional small biz on autopilot? Here's a word I want you to use, not just in a sentence but in your small biz marketing: automations. Never heard of it? Well, walk this way. ... Automations are like paper aeroplanes on steroids - much like this pile of planes Poppy made last time he came to visit his grandsons. You fold them once, and then they can just keep on flying (except automations are not likely to be scrunched up by an over excited 2.5 yo). Automations are basically ways we can put parts of our marketing on cruise control so platforms like our website, social channels and emails can be providing value and enticing potential customers further into our business. Meanwhile, we're off kicking goals elsewhere. These can be both simple an effective - automations can be as simple as: posting daily to social media (but you set it up a month ago) Sending vouchers & discounts to your inner circle of clients (while you're at footy practice) Appearing in your customer's inboxes with free tips & tricks, providing them with regular free value (meanwhile, you're catching up on sleep ... OK, bookwork. Who am I kidding). Automations can be a set-and-forget way to run effective marketing strategies in the background of your business. It's like having a team of sales people working around the clock - and they cost next to nothing! Curious about how automations could be a part of your business? Why not send me a DM and tell me a bit about your business - I'll show you what automations could be doing for your biz!

11.01.2022 The lesson my Year 2 teacher taught me that I use nearly everyday in marketing (who says kids these days don't learn anything ) When I was in Yr 2, Ms Nield had a specific formula for our newsday presentations. I remember she had 6 big flashcards laminated and stuck to the top of the blackboard (yes, blackboard - remember those bad boys?) that were supposed to guide the way we told our story: Who was involved?... What happened? When did it happen? Where was it? Why did it happen? How did you feel? As 8 year olds, this taught us how to create a full formed story, keep flowing and stay confident whilst standing in front of our peers. Now, as a 30 year old small biz marketer, I use this EXACT framework to create strategies for my clients: Who are you talking to? Who is most likely to invest in your business, or in this particular product or service? What is your business, product or service in simple terms? What are the benefits that customers stand to gain? When is your product or service most relevant, necessary or useful? Is there a certain time that you should be promoting this? Is there a certain stage in your customers' lives where your products or services are most beneficial? Where do you deliver your products & services, or where can your customers access them? Where are your customers located? Why should potential customers invest in your products and services? Why should they choose you over your competitors? How can potential customers find out more, get a sample or get started working with you? This simple but robust approach is a great way of organising all the aspects of an idea into a logical flow of information. I use systems just like this in my new service, Brain Dump sessions. As much as it sounds like a mess, these 45 min sessions are designed to turn messy ideas and concepts into a clear gameplan for your products and services. So if you've got an idea you want to try, a new service you want to offer or a new product you want to promote, head over to my website and book yourself a Brain Dump with me. For less that $100, you could be jumping into 2021 with less mental clutter, more clarity. https://www.meredithpaige.me/brain-dump P.S. Oh, and if anyone happened to grow up in my neck of the woods and has Ms Nield on Facebook or Insta, please tag her in the comments, just so she knows all that hard work was appreciated!
