23.01.2022 Choices. Relationships. How do you define Choice? Google defines choice as 'an act of choosing between two or more possibilities.' Choice is a wonderful thing. It means that we are privilieged enough to choose the actions we take, and how we take those actions. Choice is so important in relationships. Choice is choosing to stay or go in a relationship. It's choosing how the relationship goes. It's choosing alone and choosing together in a relationship. It's choosing t...o stay in an environment that works for us, or leaving a workplace that doesn't work for us. It's choosing to go on that trip, take that course, or start that business. It's living your dreams and being who you want to be for you. Choice is a privilege. Choices comes with responsibility. Choices are a great part of life. Choices are a joy and delight. 15.01.2022 Actions. Relationships. How do you define Action? Google defines Action as 'the fact or process of doing something, typically to achieve an aim,' and 'a thing done; an act.' Actions are part of everything that we do. Actions in relationships can be as simple as expressing our feelings and/or emotions; cooking for each other; calling each other, giving & receiving touch; and spending time with each other. ... Actions are the difference between keeping things as they are or generating new possibilities in relationships. Actions reflect who we are and how we feel about the relationships we are in. Actions show how important or not important our relationships are to ourselves and the other people involved in the relationship. Actions are dynamic, ever-changing and can spice up our relationships or keep them quite mundane. Actions are the key to us keeping our relationships as they are, or moving them in new directions. Actions can be stagnant and passive or they can be huge movements, magnetic and very active. Google Dictionary defines Patience as 'the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.' Patience is a requirement for all sorts of situations. It can include the rate, and level in which we are evolving; it can be for the unfolding and unfurling of particular situations' that impact the whole of society, like the current covid-19 Pandemic; or for the patience required to complete school/university/college or a degree. Patience is required to teach/train toddlers to use the toilet, when teaching teenagers how to drive and when taking care of an elderly relative. But how does Patience impact our relationships? 02.01.2022 Dependent. Relationships. Google defines dependent as 'determined by' or 'requiring someone or something for financial or other support'. Some degree Dependence is required in all of our different societal relationships' otherwise some things simply wouldn't function. For example, train drivers are dependent on the engineers and mechanics and sparkies that keep the train lines running smoothly. Prime Ministers and Ministers of various states and countries are dependent on t...heir constituents to fund their pay packets as ultimately every person who pays tax to their government is paying their politicians to represent them. Dependents as people are often put into groups of people that are being taken care of by others ie children, the elderly, people with different needs and abilities that require different supports for functioning in society. Dependency can be both safe and healthy when done in a relationship in a win-win way. And like all things, dependency can also be toxic. I know that I've been in, and created toxic relationships around me. And it's not pretty when the dependency is toxic and unfortunately all too common for the human experience. How has being dependent on another been either healthy and/or toxic for you? What are your feelings about dependent relationships? #dependent #relationships #pillarsofrespect #loverespectconnectionpeaceharmony #conversationsforlove
