17.01.2022 The 2021 Annual General Meeting has now been held and a new committee elected. Lyn Holes is President, supported by Vice-President Beryl McGrath, Delegate Jeannie Gruel, Secretary, Judy Malone, Treasurer Jan Fox, Assistant Secretary Iris Ballard Assistant Treasurer Sue Donnelly and Program/Publicity Officers Anne Pearson and Louise Pearson. Jan, Sue and Louise were unable to attend the meeting, but Lyn is shown surrounded by Jeannie, Anne, Iris, Beryl and Judy. It is hop...ed that 2021 will be a less challenging year and we are able to once again enjoy friendship, fun and interesting guest speakers while raising the funds necessary to support the students we sponsor in conjunction with The Smith Family. Don't forget that due to another function at the RSL on our normal meeting day, March's meeting will be held on Friday 19th at 11.30 am for a 12 noon lunch. New members are always welcome, so bring along your friends. See more
13.01.2022 On Friday 12th February, Denise Mynott, an inaugural member of our club, was farewelled at a moving celebration of a well lived life spanning almost 97 years. There were tears, there were smiles and most of all wonderful memories were shared. During her membership she held many positions on the committee including that of president; and at the celebration of our 20th birthday, she not only received her 20 year badge, but also a Making a Difference Award presented by then National President Gwen Wilton. She will be missed. (Pictured below are photos of Denise at National Convention 2011, a Zone Christmas function in 2012 and at our 20th Birthday celebration with Shirley Cameron who also received her 20 year badge, and Gwen Wilton as well as with one of her three daughters, Virginia.)
09.01.2022 Members of our club joined with VIEW members from Narooma, Bega Evening, Merimbula and Eden clubs at a Zone Ng03 luncheon at Kianinny Resort Tathra, where our Danielle Watkins was the lucky winner of a Weber barbecue generously donated by Mitre 10 Pambula. Entertainment was provided by Gabrielle Gwynne who had everyone tspping their feet and singing along to songs from earlier days. It was so,good to catch up with friends from other clubs who we have been unable to,see for over 12 months due to Covid restricyions
08.01.2022 The theme for our March meeting is a Mad Hatters Tea party. Join us for some fun and games wearing your maddest hat and bring your favourite tea cup or mug to enjoy a cuppa and a tasty treat after lunch. Don't forget the date is 19th March.
07.01.2022 A Mad Hatter's Tea Party was the theme for our Msrch madness meeting. Thank you Liz for the great table decorations. Many ladies brought along their favourite mugs and we enjoyed a cuppa and little treat after lunch. Once we got the formal part of the day over the Mad Hats were judged with Sue Donnelly winning the prize, This was followed by a game of Bra Pong, which President Lyn won, and Iris then gave us the answers to the trivia quiz. All in all a great day of fun and friendship. Local author Gabbie Stroud will be guest speaker at our 9th April meeting and we have other interesting speakers lined up for future months. Each meeting it has been good to see members we haven't seen for a while, coming back and we look forward to seeing more of you as time goes on.
