24.01.2022 We lost another great artist recently with the passing of the incomparable Tommy Watson. His distinctive and powerful style propelled him to the top echelon of Aboriginal artists and he is destined to be remembered as one of the greats. RIP.

22.01.2022 This wonderful Dorothy Napangardi painting is 61cm X 91cm in size and it is on belgium linen. Most importantly, it has Warlukurlangu Artists (Art Centre) provenance, making it a wonderful investment piece. The traditional style but with the brillant red dotting interwoven throughout give this piece a distinctive flair. We were lucky to snare this one in a private sale many years ago. Reasonably priced at AUD$2995.

22.01.2022 Linda Syddick Napaltjarris paintings are inspired by both her traditional nomadic life in the desert, the Dreaming of her father and stepfather. and her exposure to missionaries Lindas father Rintje was killed by a revenge spearing party in accordance with customary law when Linda was about eighteen months old. Her stepfather, artist Lungkata Shorty Tjungurrayi, subsequently brought her up. and instructed Linda to carry on and paint his Dreaming. Linda was taught the elements of Christianity in the Mission School. Like the other Pintupi people, Linda and her descendants have been Christians in addition to their Aboriginal identity since that time. Linda says I am Black-fella Artist Woman, me and Im Christian. Many of her paintings have strong Christian imagery, such as her Three Wise Men works.

18.01.2022 Rini Tiger is the daughter of Tiger Palpatja who painted Wanampi Water Snake and was an Amata elder that had strong ties to traditional culture. Amata is an Aboriginal community situated in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara/Yankunyjatjara Lands in the far Northwest of South Australia, situated amongst the picturesque Musgrave Ranges, approximately 120km south of Uluru. This stunning 60 x 60 cm piece is AUD$750.

07.01.2022 Today we celebrate the life of Albert Elea Namatjira, arguably one of Australias most famous and facinating sons. Best known for his art, Namatjira was born at... Hermannsburg mission, was the first Indigenous Australian to be granted Australian citizenship, was honoured with the Queens Coronation Medal in 1953, and lived a life that exposed the contradictions of Australian society. Today is also Namatjiras birthday. If he was still alive he would be 115 years old on this day though the hardships he endured saw him pass away at only 54 years old. If you used Google in Australia today you will notice a Doodle commemorating this incredible man. From all of us, Happy Birthday Albert! May your legacy continue to resonate far into the future.
