25.01.2022 ARE YOU USING A SPACER? With the current air quality conditions around Australia people with #asthma are relying on their reliever / puffer medication more hea...vily. It is very important that you use a #spacer with your puffer. Using a spacer allows more medicine to get into the airways where it is needed. A spacer is recommended for all ages, not just children. http://ow.ly/NCbi50xVJhR #AsthmaMedication

22.01.2022 Flare-ups do happen, and in children they are most often caused by colds and flu. These are almost impossible to avoid. A flare-up is different to having #asthm...a symptoms. They are generally more severe and require urgent medical attention. A sign that a flare-up is looming is where your childs symptoms dont respond to reliever medications, or return quickly after a dose. Learn more about flare ups here: http://ow.ly/6pkM50ycFY5

20.01.2022 Are you finding it difficult talking to your child about the coronavirus? It's normal to be feeling anxious at these times and its natural for children to p...ick up on our feelings and emotions. Children may need extra attention and reassurance and it is important we ask them how they are feeling and clarify any misunderstandings. Weve developed an online booklet for young children you can read together that explains what the coronavirus is and how we can stop it from spreading. Download it here: https://bit.ly/3aKRiPd

As part of protecting our patients, our staff and the community, we have also made some changes to the way people and vehicles move around the hospital and campus, and we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. 08.01.2022 There has been a lot of discussion amongst my colleagues in general practice about the response to the novel coronavirus outbreak. I have just spoken at length ...with Kerry Chant from NSW Health about this. (Chinese subtitles are available: ) They are very clear that they are asking people to call their GP for a conversation -- not to attend in person. It is important that you have clear instructions. If you have travelled to China in the past 14 days and you have symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat or breathlessness, please avoid contact with other people. Do not go into crowded places, or take public transport. Do not go to your GP. General practices are not equipped to handle a case of this virus. If you are unwell, you can phone your GP, or your nearest emergency department or call the HealthDirect helpline on 1800 022 222 for advice. If you have suspected novel coronavirus, you will require specialized investigation, isolation and treatment in a hospital. We understand that advice will evolve as more information about the incubation period and the transmission of the virus emerges. #coronavirus #Sydney #CoronaOutbreak #update
