23.01.2022 So for anyone who was wondering just why the MAMILS didn't roll over the finish line this year????? Well...after cycling 219km..and only 1km to go..we got a flat! Let just say it wasn't a regular flat...it was a real good flat that was unchangeable. So an executive decision was made to carry our bikes over the line...The weird bit about all of this was that Franko had said to Craig only 3 hours beforehand "Let's do something fun this year... let's stop before the finish line and carry our bikes over". We were pulling over to brief the team on our MAMIL antics and all we could hear was a tyre going BOOOOM!

21.01.2022 Get a load of this cranky lying cow - a traffic control subcontractor at the work site, on the public road outside Taronga Zoo down in Sydney. Safety signs MUST... NOT obstruct bike lanes. She's trying to get the video removed for "privacy" reasons. Boo hoo. Good luck with that! It's not a private conversation when you're yelling at each other in a public street and other people are around at a busy work site. I'm not a cyclist, and this ain't my video, but they get enough crap without idiots like this making things worse for them. Update: traffic controller has been moved on and the construction company apologised.

19.01.2022 Those crazy KAMILS (Kalgoorlie MAMILS) hit the road today on their massive mission to cycle to Perth and then start the MACA Cancer 200 Ride this Saturday! They may have only riden 65km today...but they got baked in 38 degree heat and roasted by a smashing headwind! By the time they hit the finish line on Sunday they will have pumped out over 800km raising donations for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research! ... 14.01.2022 Day 3- 168km by Claire Turner Millband! Southern Cross to Kellerberrin. Jeez, these boys are machines..........I have no words. It was tough out there for them today, the weather was a little cooler but they had almost 168km of headwind....EEK!! Roads...or should I say the road was busier today....maaan, those road trains & wide loads are so scary, most of the drivers were accommodating with only minimum abuse @#%*....even though we warn them there's cyclists up ahead...there's no pleasing some folk. 11.01.2022 $111,440!!! - The Legends of Lycra have done it again for the 2018 Perth Ride to Conquer Cancer and Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research! Over two days the MAMILS rode 200kmand the amazing KAMILS rode 800km from Kalgoorlie to Perth to Mandurah to Perth in just 6 days! This would not have been possible without our incredible sponsors and as always a MASSIVE thank you to GBF Underground Mining Company who has always had our backand fronts. Once again our crew managed... to keep us smiling from start to finish, and now as alwayswe are all off to soak our bones and bums in a long hot bath (separately). Thanks to you guys and gals out there who donated, liked and shared our posts...and had a laugh along the way. See you all next year, GO THE MAMILS!!!!!

10.01.2022 Well...what can we say...that was a massive weekend! Blood, Sweat and Beers! So firstly a MASSIVE thanks to our support crew, our families, our friends and of course our sponsors! This little two-day ride of 220km is a real chameleon, any one of our team will tell, you that no year has ever been the same..rain, hail or shine...This one...it was a baker..a real stinker, over 110km in 35+ degrees on the last day. But...those KAMILS, they did that every day, for 600 km, for 5 ...days straight from Kalgoorlie to Perth to join the ride. Why?... You know why, because not only are they legends..because, like you, me, us ....and them. We all ride, support and donate to fight Cancer. Here's the thing...we found out today that the legends of lycra have raised $100,014 for cancer research for the MACA Cancer 200 and Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research! But wait...theres more...we also never knew how much we have raised since day dot. Are you sitting down? ...... The coolest team ever to ride a bike on this planet has raised $561,366 for cancer research!!!!! Who would have ever thought 8 years later...we could all make this happen! Once again those MAMILS are now off soaking their bums and bones... Rest up you good things..you have 364 days to recover!
