25.01.2022 I am actually getting somewhere with my two projects on the go ... the Harlequin Monkey is cut and his shadow looks pretty good... I’ve decided that the Girl who hasn’t got a name needs a headpiece and have also started a third piece of Dutch Houses... it seems to be all or nothing for me.

24.01.2022 .... and I just realize that I haven’t even posted the dragonflies which I finished last week ...

24.01.2022 I’ve only got until Tuesday to get this girl ready for the November 30 Handmadeexchange online market where she’ll be available at a special price...

24.01.2022 I am a bit under the pump again and it seems to be what drives me to get creative and experiment with new projects. I was booked to enter a piece at Peppermint Lane Lodge for their annual sculpture trail in the beautiful Ferguson Valley near Bunbury... last week I thought I’ll never get my ballet pair finished in time and asked Kim, the lovely owner and organiser if I could pull out... No way! she said ... now I’m in 2nd gear trying to get my dancer boy ready for the Follies Sculpture Trail on May 1st and 2nd ... see you all there

23.01.2022 I found an extra gear yesterday and finished cutting Teresa‘s fire cube ... today it’s welding a mesh to the inside and then she goes outside into the rain to start the rust ...

22.01.2022 I have made progress on the new girl on the block ... but still thinking about what to do with her top ... colour? I get the strong feeling that she might want to keep the same headpiece as her sister

20.01.2022 I’ve started a second 1200x300mm wall piece featuring a couple of fantasy fish ... hopefully they’ll pair up nicely with the dragonflies...

19.01.2022 I’m working on two pieces at the moment... one is the life size girl and the other is a dressed up monkey which was one of my very first pieces. I never offered it for sale before, so the next Handmadeexchange September 27th will be a premiere for it

19.01.2022 I go up to my workshop in the morning with best intentions to tidy up before I start a new project... as I sweep the floor I think of what I’ll be creating next ... then I sit down and start sketching on paper or on the floor... this week I made up my mind that it is going to be ‘just a girl’... so far I’ve done some parts in cardboard and some in aluminium... can’t wait to see where this is taking me ... workshop is still a mess btw

18.01.2022 I’m going to dress my dancer boy ...

17.01.2022 I can’t help myself and have lots of fun playing with my metal girl while I’m working on something else. I keep looking at her and re-arrange her outfit... but luckily there is a deadline she needs to be finished by...

17.01.2022 More beautiful rust pattern ... the little orange dots on these gum leaves are rusted morning dew ... the only way to preserve this gorgeous patina is to keep the panels indoors... and I’m thinking: why not?

17.01.2022 Cutting a face I find so very hard to do... you’ve only got one chance to get it right ... just one little slip or wabble of the torch and it makes a whole difference ... I’m quite happy with my dancer boy... also I’m placing bits of different metals on him to add detail ...

15.01.2022 Tonight is the night ... another very exciting online market at The Handmadeexchange... if you go to their page and from there to Shop Now (no commitments) you can check out all the beautiful handcrafted wares and maybe find a gorgeous present for yourself or a loved one ... see you there later on https://www.facebook.com/handmadeexchange/

13.01.2022 I am still busy sorting sheep but I will be ready for the Handmadeexchange online market in a couple of hours ... hopefully I will see you all there www.facebook.com/handmadeexchange

13.01.2022 The rusting has started.... I’ve already got about five new outfits in my head haha ... and when I look at my sketches from about 10 years ago this was one of the things I always wanted to do... dress up dolls

13.01.2022 It’s not that I’ve been sitting around doing sweet nothing ... I think I’ve just been a bit photo tired ... yesterday I test hung one of the set of gum leaves to make sure the wire is holding the weight of the panel. All the pieces on my veranda look a bit fuzzy here and that’s because of their shadows on the wall ... looks a lot better in real life

12.01.2022 Breathtaking local art, yummy food and drink, beautiful people .... what more does a grey nomad want??? Loved our days at Shark Bay

10.01.2022 All I wanted to do was take a photo of 11 bunting flags close together... and then ... look at it ... might be the start of something new

10.01.2022 See the packed up camper in the background? Yes, we’re off on a little trip north... wherever the road takes us ... I will take you all with me and post some impressions from along the way

09.01.2022 A special post for my beautiful followers in Melbourne and country Victoria .... A large bunting - 300x300mm - featuring the symbol for strength ... I am thinking of you

09.01.2022 Although I had a bit of an all over the place week, I am ready for Monday’s Handmadeexchange online market. One of my five listings is this gum leaves panel which I admit has been neglected for a while... it has aged beautifully during this time and I have brought it inside the house for a photo session... I am liking the indoor showing of rusty wall art a lot

08.01.2022 I couldn’t believe what I saw when I posted this on Instagram yesterday... it’s the start of cutting bunting flags and I did cut them all. Only when I looked at the photo a couple of days later I could see the beautiful rusty scenery ... I wonder if this will work if I try to do it again... probably not

08.01.2022 When I took the photo I didn’t even notice the shadow ... can you see?

06.01.2022 I’ve been asked to incorporate a name in the fire cube ... can you spot it?

04.01.2022 Not quite a week into our little camping trip and it’s been nothing but joy... amazing scenery at the Irwin River in Dongara and driving through the canola fields near Geraldton, yummy waffles at the Starfish Café / Southbeach Port Denison (love that place) and gorgeous public art in Northampton where the whole town is dotted with the prettiest decorated sheep ...

03.01.2022 It was a bit of a big day yesterday for me and my girl. She had to go up for a photo shoot for next Monday’s Handmadeexchange online market... my no1 helper was not available so it was a good chance to see if one person can put her together and hang her ... she only weighs 8kg ... so yes, it’s possible. Once she was on the wall I couldn’t help but adding bits and pieces to her like a flowering branch and a stick with an upside down wir Xmas tree on top ... and no, I didn’t name her ... she’s Just A Girl

03.01.2022 I know exactly why I am such a last minute operator... it’s because while I’ve got my pieces in front of me I never stop adding, changing, doubting ... now let’s hope that the WA lockdown won’t be extended past Monday and we can all take a trip to the sculpture trail at Peppermint Lane in the beautiful Ferguson Valley near Bunbury... I will be there on Saturday with these two guys ... who else?

02.01.2022 When I look for inspiration I sometimes look back in my own album ... this morning I came across the Kimono and I strongly feel that I want to do her again ... maybe as a wall piece

02.01.2022 Well ... this girl is taking up a lot of my thinking time but I’m really enjoying the journey.... the idea is to create a live size person that is relatively light weight and can be disassembled and flat packed for easy postage. Looks like all I have to cut now is one more shoe ...

02.01.2022 Yesterday I assembled my girl to see how much she weighs (10kg) and if she can be hung safely... and yes she can ... just from one point!

01.01.2022 Yesterday was pick up day for the fire cube ... hopefully birthday girl Teresa will be happy about her present
