24.01.2022 What words do you choose to convey the meaning of who you are? What words have you continued to use that are beginning to feel cagey or restrictive? It is no secret that us humans are forever seeking meaning in everything around us and in what we do. The way in which we translate this sought meaning is through language; words. We create words and assign a particular meaning to them, then these meanings become understood and interpreted universally.... So over time we begin to choose words to convey the meaning of things around us, but we also choose certain words to announce who we are; we form an identity based on the words we choose which ascribe meaning to who we are. The problem is, the meaning of words do not often change, not drastically anyway. Yet CHANGE is all that we.ever.do. We are ever-changing beings, so it’s only natural that the meanings we seek to communicate or translate are ever-changing. When we begin to feel restricted in our identity, caged in, chained, uninspired, misaligned, trappedit can be time to let go of the ill-fitting words/labels we’ve accumulated over time, to allow for the limitlessness of Self. You are Infinite. Unbounded. Immeasurable. Incomparable. When you realise this about yourself, you will realise this about everyone else. And what a marvellous and magical thing that will be. 03.01.2022 Why have I chosen Metanoia to represent the work I do in my community? The meaning of the word is a "transformative change of heart". It is a transliteration of two Greek words; metá (meaning beyond or after) and noe (meaning perception or understanding). Over time it began appearing in religious texts centering on repentance and the atonement of our sins, giving it a more exoteric (outer) meaning. Carl Jung used the term in his work to suggest the spontaneous attempt of the... psyche to heal itself of an unbearable conflict by melting down then being reborn in a more adaptive form. A form of self healing. Metanoia is not just a word, it is an experience. While it remains a passion of mine to work alongside individuals and their families experiencing End Of Life stages, the direction of this platform will be shifting slightly.
