24.01.2022 Axle Grease. Seems that ALL late model bikes are missing out on getting Axle Grease on final assembly Axles now are either rusting up and becoming one with the wheel bearings or axle scoring from the bearings, in some cases I have to hammer the axle out ! This is Not good. Axles only need a smear of lithium grease to do the job but as it stands atm hardly any workshops are doing it.

23.01.2022 Australia Wide Shortage on Bridgestone S22’s ! No more fronts 120/70x17 so I’m advised. S22 rear tyres are still available but running out fast. Reason for this.......not sure lol, probably covid ??

So off out to the wild west (Brisbane Ranges) where the pot holes are deep, dead roos all over the place and many a stolen burnt out smashed up wrecks are to be avoided. Didnt start off well, flat battery surprise surprise, jump pack at the ready and good to go .

22.01.2022 Motorcycle Tyre Supply Issue. My suppliers Can’t get Michelin, Bridgestone and Most Pirelli tyres atm, we think it’s because of the Global Corona Virus Shutdown, standby for updates.

22.01.2022 Tyre Repair using cords. Best to add a twist of the wrist once some of the cord is inside the Tyre (loop/twist not a tail) or otherwise it will look like this (see pic).

20.01.2022 Radial Mount Brake Caliper Bolts. After many years struggling on many makes and models to get these bolts out looks like most manufacturers have stopped using thread locker and are now using anti seize grease, this imo should of been standard practice because the dissimilar metal thing has been going on since Jesus was a boy lol

17.01.2022 Wrong Tyre for the Wrong Bike on the Wrong Rim. Anyone who has had experience fitting tyres you come across this every now and then. S1000 RR with a Sport/Touring tyre fitted, it was a Metzeler Roadtec 01 (Heavy Duty) no room to get tools in to lift the bead, so first time for me having to cut the bead with a grinder (when all else fails) Screw driver used to show bead cut.

17.01.2022 Bridgestone S22s are being released this week coming, Ive heard that these will cost around $5.00 more each, that I will believe when I see it lol.

17.01.2022 Michelin Road 5s. Dont know if its just bad luck or because of popularity but Im doing more puncture repairs on these more than any other Michelin product to date. My suggestion would be to carry a puncture repair kit (cord type) those small mushroom plug repair kits dont stick to the dust/powder/oil on the inside of the Tyre tooooo good and can let go a speed (just saying) . Over and out.

16.01.2022 Sunday trading. Since the industry is playing catch-up due to lockdown I’ve stopped fitting tyres on a Sunday until further notice (not enough work to warrant opening) sorry for the inconvenience.

16.01.2022 Fitting Owner Supplied M/C Tyres. A set of 9 year old Dunlop Qualifiers are doing the rounds atm, I’ve been contacted twice by 2 different owners (same set of tyres I think) wanting these fitted and I WILL NOT fit them, I’m trying to protect you from yourself ! Do the motorcycle community a favour and take them to a Tyre recycling centre for disposal.

16.01.2022 Tyre Cracking/Splitting On Sidewalls. Now a certain manufacturer will tell you that this isnt a problem, Ive seen this on track tyres more so but on road tyres as well, the owner of this tyre was telling me it was leaking through some of the deeper cracks, in my opinion I wouldnt be running on a tyre that even slightly resembles this but thats just me :)

I funny how so many people want me to run this business in the red, I would really just once like to run this business in the black (that would be nice) I give everyone the best discounts I can but that Mobile Call Out Fee at ($33.00) metro melb still seems to be a job killer, oh well good thing I don’t charge plumber or electrician call out fees I’d never get another job ever again lol.

I go to do my weekly shop 1 basket/hand basket only to find nearly everything gone, but if you like ice cream, chocolates and lollies the store is yours. This is stupid thinking allowing people to self control lol, odds and evens (house number via your driving licence or similar pic ID) something has to be done. Ended up with only a half full basket.......N...ot Happy ! PS in hindsight maybe I should of joined the flock and panicked :/ See more

09.01.2022 Almost a Classic LOL Michelin Pilot Road (Original Series) 17 years old, came with tyre shine liberally applied and slippery as all get out. Nothing surprises me anymore:)

08.01.2022 PIRELLI Diablo Rosso Corsa 2 Just under a thousand kilometres young and I must say its the BEST Hypersport Tyre Ive ever used, for on road use its absolutely fantastic and without any adjustments this Tyre works so very well on the Aprilia RSV4 its uncanny perhaps even a little bit scary lol, lean it over hmmm lean it over more ok etc etc. If it wasnt for the price ($50.00 approx more than my favourite Tyres Bridgestone S21s & 22s combo RS10s) Id be using them all the time. Triple compound rear dual front, havent used them in the wet (so thats a bit of a mystery atm) grip is excellent, looks like longevity should be around the average 7-9K, feel and feedback is excellent, the only minor complaint I have is I think the hard compound in the middle should be a little wider currently 50mm but other than that 9/10 in my opinion.

05.01.2022 Managed to escape the rat race today so headed west out to Meredith for lunch and cut a few laps in and out of the Brisbane Ranges and now feeling a whole lot better ( I don’t get out much) :)

04.01.2022 Fitting Touring tyres on Sport Bikes. Here’s a list of Touring tyres I can’t fit on Sports Bikes :- Bridgestone BT023, Bridgestone T30 and T31, Pirelli Angel GT H/D, Pirelli Angel GT 2, Metzeler Roadtec H/D and Any Dunlop Roadsmart 1-3. If any of the above mentioned tyres are going on a Sport Bike please Don’t ask me to fit them, you will need a electric Tyre fitting machine if you’re fitting Touring tyres on a Sport Bike.

I had to see it for myself and its true, all of the above shelves empty, 1 Asian woman got the last of the packet dry food by overfilling her trolley, I mean really this is ridiculous.......Stop Panic Buying !
