24.01.2022 Soaking it in without another human in sight!

24.01.2022 Reminiscing on a golden weekend that reminded how much fun climbing can be outside of the actual climbing. Saturday involved a seacliff multi that was a quarter choss, quarter damp rock, quarter sand and a healthy quarter of me chucking a tantrum mid climb (thanks Korber for getting me through that one). Followed by a super cruisy day at Alfords point where I remember the crag banter more then the actual climbs. Shown is a shot from Sunday where I thought I was capturing some form of triple tendon popping injury based on the scream but was instead capturing one hell of a mid climb leg cramp... Thanks Damian for the extremely over dramatic scream ;)

24.01.2022 Aaaannnndddd were back! Had a week or two of life and then a handful of weeks in beautiful Canada Trip was to catch up with an old friend and got up to:... [x] Farm life with friendly goats, dogs, ducks and hens. [x] Alpine day hikes above the clouds with nervous loud talking Australians (shoo bears)[x] Days spent lazing on the water on an island after my first downhill biking experience that didnt end up in death [x] Some of the most beautiful lakes and colours Ive ever seen [x] Hiking to an alpine cabin and then summiting the surrounding mountains that were named after lord of the rings characters. Near one of the rocky summits fell through the snow up to my waist and couldnt get out (thanks Adam for the save) which isnt my fondest memory [x] Getting served at a bar by an extremely intoxicated 50 yr old bartender at 4pm on a Thursday. [x] Seeing more active bushfires from the highway into Vancouver then Ive seen in my entire life in Australia. [x] Got some of the best footage Ive ever shot! What a bloody good few weeks with to many good people to name and Im more grateful then you know for it all! Alex Korber Connor Atkins Michael Evans great standing for this shot

22.01.2022 Mastering the art of the flail. Exhibit A: Bedtime Teddy (21) Exhibit B: Girls in the Hood (24)

22.01.2022 Onto the main island for a Connor pickup and then straight out of Vancouver on the road to whistler. Shown is the road there, which was all time and a random lake that was our abode for the night! The last photo was the result of a wandering Isaac stumbling into shot...

21.01.2022 What a playground! Shown are the events of the middle day where we managed to snag three summits in a huge loop that left our legs extremely tired but hearts happy. Involved was a glacier, alpine lakes, sketchy scrambles, sketchy traverses, me falling up to my waste in snow (and getting stuck), all wrapped up in mountain ranges in all directions as far as the eye could see. This all surmounted to one of the best days of hiking in my life with the usual all time crew!

20.01.2022 The best way to spend a rest day, seeing the area from the sky in a tiny prop plane! This one was typically used in search and rescue efforts but on this day the main goal was to avoid the storm and see as much as we could of everything!

19.01.2022 Trying to decide which bit of choss to pull on...

19.01.2022 A hike so good it gets 2 posts! After enjoying the view and scoring some sweet drone footage we started our descent down the good side. This led to a chossy scramble down to a snowfield and through to the bluest lake Ive ever been in. It had 2 feet of sun warmed water and then the freezing underneath. More scrambling, more views and we were back under the clouds and on our way home!

19.01.2022 Colder nights, sweaty days, remote and unplugged with smiles all round! I spent easter exploring the rock at Wingello, which offered plenty of stars with a sprinkling of questionable rock to keep you on your toes. Overall a trip that was good for the soul! w/ Samuel Kocal Alex Korber Mitchell Bloomfield Marius Birsanu

18.01.2022 1 ferry to Victoria and 2 more ferry jumps and we landed on Hornby island for 3 days of downhill mountain biking, kayaking and swimming in ridiculously clear water and all round relaxing. Placed the camera down for the majority but shown is a 12 shot drone panorama stitched together (that water clarity!!!) and one of the million waterfalls in Canada. Slower days are good for the soul!

18.01.2022 Long weekend coming up and eyeing some more of this but by the current forecast looks more like a damp Nowra cave could be the go!

18.01.2022 Took advantage of the slight drop in temps to explore a handful of Stanwells new gems! Shown is Korber doing his best onsight face as he unlocks the beta on Chiffre Apres Chiffre (22)

17.01.2022 Heading past whistler our main goal was Mt Currie but the heat was to much so we ended up heading to an alpine cabin ringed by mountain hikes named after lord of the rings characters...(awesome) What you see in the second shot is us carrying an inflatable raft the 10kms and 500ish metres elevation in because why not! Im going to show great restraint to not post 50 images of this cabin, at the edge of a lake and ringed by mountains, it was truly a special spot!

17.01.2022 Was a gem to hang out in a different part of NSW's. Nothing too hard got sent personally but Alex Korber pulling off a monster hold on the onsight of a 23 without whipping was definitely a gem of a send!

16.01.2022 Old growth forests and a lifetime worth of lakes to explore. Victoria was definitely delivering the goods before we got to the farm and the leg breaking mountain hikes to come!

16.01.2022 3 weeks jaunt into the south. New Orleans wedding, Cajun food and raucous nights. Florida family time with my better half, reuniting with old friends and new. Impromptu SF day (thankyou missed flight) then back to summer and waves! More snaps on my story https://www.instagram.com/stories/mevans_photography/

16.01.2022 An essential part of climbing, sitting on the anchor after battling up a route and trying to work out if you should put your belayer through the ringer or cut your losses, clean it and walk off into the sunset. Alex Korber Cici Chenliu

16.01.2022 An awesome day out shooting! Congrats on the engagement Gabriella and Matt!!!

14.01.2022 And then it was all over. Bags packed and I was heading back to Oz. It was an unforgettable few weeks of special memories that will stay with me forever and yet I feel like I saw so little of Canada. Will definitely be coming back!

14.01.2022 Hoping for more of this on the weekend!

13.01.2022 After stopping at Victoria for a night of boogy we headed out and quickly found an escape from the heat amongst the canyons, endless winding roads and a delapidated skate ramp from an old video shoot hidden in the forest!

13.01.2022 And just like that our 3 days in the cabin were over and we were making our slow way back to Vancouver, taking in a few small hikes, late day canoes and being in awe of the live fires near the highway!. That first shot is barely touched, the glacial runoff made it look like blue paint had been added!

12.01.2022 A slice of home from a glorious weekend with a handful of quite unsuccessful drone flights around the coast. First the battery nearly died a kilometre and a half out to sea (come here whales) and then on another flight I dropped behind a rock shelf and immediately lost all signal from the drone (thank you DJI for your return to home feature!). However the drone lives on and more footage the merrier!

10.01.2022 After getting to the farm at Coombs we spent the next day scaling the 5040 peak. 1100m vertical up and 900m back down before hitting the road in about 6 hours meant a lot of sweat and a lot of leg work. We went up the boring way on the back side of the mountain through the treeline and into the snow and wild flower layer until we unexpectedly came over the ridge to the the entire mountain range in front of us, wrapped by clouds. Instant tingles to see that view, and the next 30 minutes to the top was one of the best half hours of hiking in my life. Stoked to have that experience, stoked we scored it to ourselves and stoked I broke into my much wiser 27th year with such a perfect day!

09.01.2022 Catch you later swell. You were sorta great, sorta average and are sorta still hanging around if your super desperate for a wave. Bring on the next!

08.01.2022 Loosely going to follow the Canada trip from the start with some potential side trips into other work as it comes up! Shown are shots from the first day as we reunited on Canadian soil and jumped on a ferry to Victoria as the sun slowly set. The long summer days and golden hours was one of my favourite things of the whole trip!

07.01.2022 We lugged all our climbing gear from down under to Canada so this day was along time coming, rock climbing! We scored a great afternoon at Comox lake after coming back from Hornsby and climbed on super different but wonderful rock nestled underneath the trees. After a short but sweet sesh we headed back to the farm to wash and repack everything before heading to the mainland to grab Connor and chase some big mountains!

07.01.2022 That was a fun weekend of climbing with high liners above!

07.01.2022 Squinty as it comes and absolutely not shot today as Sydney drowns in cold wind and rain. What happened to summer! Casey

04.01.2022 The mornings of late have been filled with orange and pink fire while the afternoon gives clear crispy blues. Great fun to be had amongst the cold!

04.01.2022 Awesome morning out with Samuel Kocal and Mitchell Bloomfield doing all the heavy lifting on gorgeous Sydney sea cliffs. Whipped together a quick edit and psyche is growing for the winter season! https://www.mevans.com.au/the-last-wave

03.01.2022 Finally some what a bloody good weekend!

03.01.2022 Bye long weekend, still some absolute gems to be found this morning!

03.01.2022 One of the highlights of the trip was Isaac sharing a cabin built by a determined crew of local legends over a handful of years. Off the grid and originally built in the forest before logging came through but luckily left the cabin standing, it was an incredible spot and I was stoked to experience it. As is tradition of helping out with additions and maintenance, we extended the shaded area, added a bench and wood storage area and had a grand ol time. Also shown is surf spot check, snacks and lake exploration that we scored along the way!

02.01.2022 Back when the sky was blue, the sun was shining and the weekend was thriving

01.01.2022 Yesterday morning Sydney decided to show a little something different for sunrise!
