24.01.2022 The RESET 2020 National Impact+Need Research Study recently surveyed 380 respondents across a variety of community sector organisations. It revealed that many organisations are suffering with reduced revenue and increasing demand. More than a quarter of respondents reported impacted staff and volunteer mental health and wellbeing. 24.01.2022 In response to the Consultation RIS on accessible housing the Melbourne Disability Institute is urgently undertaking a survey of for adults with any mobility limitation (including people with disability and older Australians), followed by interviews, to identify qualitative benefits to people with disability including improved quality of life, well-being and mental health outcomes and greater independence and empowerment. 24.01.2022 Mental Health Australia hosted a Members Policy Hub in November to provide input to the NDIA on the issue of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Independent Assessments on behalf of their mental health and psychosocial disability sector stakeholders. 17.01.2022 Tune into ABC Canberra news at 7pm tonight to hear what MHCC ACT Board President, Yvonne Luxford, has to say on how the increased stresses of the past year have led to surges in demand for mental health services. She notes that community mental health services provide early intervention and support that can help prevent crisis presentations at hospital, but community services are struggling to meet demand.

This Community Partner COVID-19 Update is designed to give community organisations and their members information in a way that is easy to use and share. Each edition will provide three to four short items about COVID-19. There will be an edition every fortnight (or more often when needed) via email (wi...th a PDF version attached). Each edition includes an opportunity to provide feedback on the bulletin and what items might be included in future editions. 02.01.2022 The Australian Network for Universal Housing Design (ANUHD) wants to ensure that the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) hears the personal stories of people whose lives have been improved by accessible housing (and how the lack of accessible housing has impacted on them). Your story, or the stories of those people you know or represent, will assist in making the case for the regulation for a minimum accessibility standard for all new housing in Australia from 2022 ensu...ring that age and disability are not barriers to people achieving their housing aspirations. The ABCB is able to receive emailed submissions directly from people detailing their own lived experience.
