22.01.2022 Researchers say 60% of us make New Years resolutions, and only 8% of us achieve them. This is not necessarily a reflection on us... We are not failures because we didn’t do something in that particular year - we may have had many things crop up in our lives that were unexpected. Or, we may have decided there were other things we wanted to do of more importance. Maybe we were too busy gaining other achievements that weren’t set as a New Years resolution. I personally love goal... setting, I think it’s an important tool for me to keep on track of what I want to achieve. With that said, and without placing a huge amount of pressure on myself, here are my 2020 goals. Improve flexibility Trek/hike in some beautiful locations Skip more Pass my Level 3 Personal Training qualification Travel Some of these goals were actually set by me in 2018, and I’m so chill about the fact they’re on my list again. I achieved a hell of a lot last year amongst the curveballs thrown at me, and just because they weren’t on my list of New Years resolutions doesn’t mean they should be forgotten. Task: take 5-10 minutes out of your day to write down all of the things you achieved last year, or in the last decade. Reflect on that good energy and feel PROUD.

15.01.2022 If I could give you one simple tip on how to start moving more it would be this: Do something you enjoy. Or, multiple things you enjoy! Today I didn’t fancy lifting weights and trying to get a new PB, but I knew I wanted to move.... So after some cardio (and doing some of the HIIT stuff I taught yesterday) I decided to pick up a hula hoop! I haven’t used a hula hoop since I was like 11 but it was fun! Do what you like to do! It will certainly keep you much more motivated.

10.01.2022 Swipe across for the face of a person that just passed their 2nd exam (Principles of Exercise, Fitness & Health)!! I’m so pleased, I scored 29/32! Now to keep working hard & get these qualifications done! Earlier this year I was in an office job that I disliked so much, I would go and cry secretly in the toilets. Now, I work for a fabulous gym @yourzone45_braintree which was where I discovered my love for exercise (as a member), and am on my way to being a qualified perso...nal trainer. For so long I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and I felt I should. I hadn’t exercised for many years until I joined YZ45, that’s where I fell in love. If you still haven’t found your thing, it will come. Get yourself out there and experiment! I wish I’d done it sooner. For me, being a personal trainer will be even more than helping people achieve goals. It’ll be watching that person grow, in confidence, self-esteem, and doing things they never dreamt they would. I never dreamt I would be doing this, and now here I am almost ready to help others. @ Braintree, Essex

06.01.2022 Goodbye UK ... After keeping it a secret amongst close family & friends, and telling work just last week, I thought now would be the right time to share with those of you that don’t know yet... In mid-March Joe & I will be embarking on a pretty amazing adventure, starting with 6 months in Adelaide. I can’t wait to get out there, hopefully with my qualifications all done, and start my career in a fitness environment on the other side of the world. We have lots of other pl...ans to go travelling elsewhere, and hopefully to settle down after our once in a lifetime trip, whether that be in the UK or in Aus. It’ll be a big decision to make! But we can’t wait to just go and have the most amazing time. For those of you that wanted to do 1-1 PT sessions once I passed my exams, even though I’m in Aus this still could be a possibility! Online coaching will be something for me to look into closer to the time. And finally, for all the YZ45 members, you will be deeply missed. Thank you for making every day at work a fun experience. I’ve loved signing up members and watching your journeys, and teaching you myself has been an absolute pleasure. I hope you all continue to smash it, & you’ll still be seeing me around for the next 3-4 weeks anyway! Wish us luck. Although, I’m already considering myself damn lucky to be travelling the world with not just my best friend, but my partner for life. @joemckay16

03.01.2022 The way you sit when you’ve shaved your legs and are waiting for your boyfriend to compliment you - So I tried to buy an agility ladder I wanted in K-Mart today but they’d sold out it came with cones, hurdles and all for just $13. Absolutely gutted as I was so looking forward to creating some workouts with them. I love that kinda training! Looks like I’ll have to stick to yoga in the mornings, the odd run here and there and simply reading in the garden to relax. Not much else is exciting me at the moment (home workouts wise). My heart was too set on that agility ladder.
