12.01.2022 Wise words from @cravegoldcoast SUPPORT LOCAL If youre anything like us, you are confused, unsure, anxious and concerned about this whole Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak that is looming over our heads. Come Monday we could find ourselves amidst lockdowns, travel bans, event cancellations, school and university shutdowns, and some business closures.... This is no doubt going to affect local businesses greatly. Some will shut down, some will have to lay off staff and all will be financially affected. What we are asking of you is please dont let them suffer. Here are a few ideas from us to help during this outbreak: . Most restaurants and cafes offer takeaway, so if you dont want to dine in please check out their takeaway menus. . Dont avoid certain restaurants such as Chinese restaurants, Italian restaurants etc. Just because their countries are infected doesnt mean the restaurants here are. (Silly we know but its happening a lot down south) . Shop local and avoid supermarket panic buys. Rather then buy your fruit and veg from supermarkets seek out local producers and buy from them to help them out. . Leave cash at home and try to pay via contactless options, cards and Apple pay etc. . Buy gift vouchers to use later at restaurants and cafes. Most offer this option. So if you feel like you cant dine out now you can buy a voucher and dine later after the virus has gone. It still helps their cashflow during the quiet times. . . If you are sick, please stay home. Dont risk infecting people via dining out and putting businesses at risk. Check out the other options (takeaway and vouchers). . This is a tough time for a lot of people so lets all help out each other. A lot of our local businesses rely on us, without them we wouldnt have the lifestyle that we enjoy on the coast. The Coronavirus will affect this but we can get through this together. Neglecting our favourite places to eat at could lead to dire results, business closures are a great possibility.
