15.01.2022 Today is Are you ok day? If you aren't please reach out to someone! If you are ok then start a conversation that just might help those that might not be coping too well! ... Xx

14.01.2022 MFD is 1 year old!!! I have a confession. A year ago when I launched my Facebook page and my business, that was literally all the planning I did for it, except for getting an ABN. The idea had been floating around for a while, because I knew that I didn't want to work for someone else forever and I knew I was good at Admin stuff and writing. I didn't do anything about it though for ages really. ... So finally I just went "f, it, I'll start a Facebook page and see what happens." I didn't have a strategy. I didn't have a budget or start up funds for that matter. I didn't create a business plan, an offering or think about my niche or target client. I just started. It moved slowly but that was ok because I was juggling 2 kids and a part time job on top of it. So for the first 6 months, I'm going to say, the business really had very little, except that Facebook page. I wanted more though. So in December of last year I again went "F it" and with no back up plan, no regular clients, no safety net but lots of support and blind faith, I quit my part time job (which was a great place to work by the way, I just wanted more creative outlets) and focused solely on my biz. Was that risky? Yep. I've had a few moments of "shit, what if this doesn't work?" I've had challenges and massive mindset shifts. I've had awesome opportunities, learnt a tonne and met some awesome friends. I've been lucky enough to have some amazing coaches and service providers offer me support and even some freebies to build my business. I've surprised myself by hitting goals I thought were unachievable. I've got some really cool, inspirational clients. Was the risk worth it? Sometimes, you don't have to have all your ducks in a row or for everything to be perfectly planned (and yes people close to me would be like is that really coming out of her mouth, cause usually, I'm annoyingly plan orientated ) Sometimes, you just need blind faith and to start.

13.01.2022 What are your thoughts on giving away freebies in your business? Do you think it gives a potential client value and will keep them coming back for more or do you believe it devalues your services?

12.01.2022 The best time to post is obviously, when your audience is online! But if you're not sure when that is, Instagram has a useful little way of checking. This only works if you have a business insta account with over 100 followers but you simply:... Go to the menu button at the top right of your Instagram (the three little lines) Click Insights, then audience. Boom, that will tell you when your audience tells to be hanging out online! What times are best for your business?

03.01.2022 FOLLOW WHAT SPEAKS TO YOU I am of the strong opinion that social media is neccessary for business these days and think it's fabulous tool for creating communities, for people to look at your services before buying and as a communication point for clients but...I don't believe you have to buy into the hype that you have to be ON ALL the platforms to have a decent following! Honestly my advice when it comes to SM, is stick to the platforms that resonate with you, you enjoy wor...king with and that your audience is on. If you try to be across every single platform you'll end up hating the whole thing and creating content will feel forced and overwhelming. Direct your energy towards the platforms you love or master 1 platform at a time and do it in a way that resonates for you. That might be lives, it might be writing posts, it might be podcasts if speaking is your thing. Whatever it may be, follow the path that speaks to you Let me know what social media or content form is your favourite!
