19.01.2022 On 13 February 2008, then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd moved a motion of Apology to Indigenous Australians. His apology was a formal apology on behalf of the successive parliaments and governments whose policies and laws "inflicted profound grief, suffering and loss on these our fellow Australians". The apology was passed unanimously as a motion by both houses of parliament, as thousands of people gathered to hear the apology both in the Great Hall and outside Parliament House in Canberra and in large gatherings across the country, in schools, offices and public squares Many members of the Stolen Generation were invited and were present in The House of Representatives in Parliament, Canberra to hear the Apology in person. Today marks the 13th anniversary of National Apology Day. How far we have come, and how far we still have to go...

09.01.2022 So that's 2020 over, I think many will be happy to see the end of what was an eventful, yet extremely challenging time. I had predicted that 2020 was going to be a year of change, but I don't think that anyone could have predicted how much change we would be in for. Whilst Covid19 has dampened the spirits of our community, I believe that the resilience of our locals has continued to shine through and will be what makes us eventually survive from a pandemic that still is crea...ting havoc through other countries and in pockets within our own. This is by no means over and we must maintain all the health restrictions that are instructed to ensure we can have the best outcomes for our families, businesses and the community at large. 2021 unfortunately won't be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but with positivity, smart business and maintaining our covid19 safe plans, we can move forward to a far better place. Have a wonderful evening, stay safe and wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2021. See more
