23.01.2022 WORK SPACE CHAT. Creating a workplace that is a good environment for everyone, me, employees and clients walking in that door, let me tell you it’s a lot of pressure ! Is it perfect? no, but it is my number one priority. How can you force a smile on your employees face? You can’t. I hire personality over skills, skills can be taught, personalities can’t be changed. When I want you walking through our doors, I want you to see the energy in the room, the love we have for clients and the passion we have for your hair

19.01.2022 After networking with other business owners, I’ve noticed there has been a general consensus of... My boss has been a tight *beep* since Covid I hope we have another lockdown so I can be paid to stay home Our Christmas party was *beep* last year... This has got me thinking How many employees feel their employer has been a bit tight since the lockdown in 2020? Yes? Read on.. as I’d like to give you a little insight into the perspective of a business owner. For the hair & beauty industry, where remote-working was not possible, four months (a third of the year) of lock-down caused a significant amount of financial stress. We were so grateful for the assistance of wages for our much-loved staff so they could continue receiving an income whilst remaining employed but from a business perspective, our expenses didn't stop there. We still had rent, insurances, accumulating annual leave, superannuation, stock that we had to forfeit, and supplier invoices and no income. Zilch. Nada. Zero. All whilst dealing with the uncertainty of when we could re-open. Since re-opening, have I been more conscious with stock order? 100% Was I limited with our Christmas party budget? Definitely! Am I trying to run a viable business so I can continue employing my staff? Absolutely. But running a business is easy right? *Sigh* We are now facing another 7-day lockdown. Will it only be 7-days? It’s the great unknown. All the thoughts that consume both employer and employees minds. This time around though, I’m jumping the gun and hoping to shed some light on the flip-side the perspective of an employer (and we’ve only just scratched the surface). Be kind! Before you wish for a lengthy lockdown so you can get paid to stay home, please take the time to think of your employers the people who enable and support you in creating and developing successful careers. The Covid pandemic has presented many challenges for both employers and employees, it’s all relative. I’m thinking of all Victorian’s as we commence in navigating the unknown and send all of my love to my fellow industry employers. I see you, I hear you, I feel you, I am you
