23.01.2022 Dionysus (God of wine, pleasure, ecstasy, and parties), the little forest bat, was called in by bat friend Chris and his wonderful daughters. After a windy night Dionysus took refuge in Chriss home without Chris realising. The next morning while rolling up his blinds, a little surprise fell out. Worried Dionysus had been injured, Chris was put in contact with us. 20.01.2022 Meet Helios! (Titan of the sun and the guardian of oaths). He was found struggling at the base of a tree by bat friend Trudy, who lovingly stayed with him until I got there as he was in some long grass. Goodness knows how she even spotted him but he is lucky she did! 14.01.2022 Meet Hypnos! (God of sleep). This little southern freetail bat was round with his roost mates in some firewood. Everyone else flew off that evening but little Hypnos stayed behind. His rescuer Stephen tried to encourage him to join his mates for the next few night but Hypnos wasnt keen so Stephen got in touch. Hypnos doesnt seem to have any injuries so well just fatten him back up and get him back to his family. Ponos (spirit of hard labour and toil) has lots of bruising around his face, and serious bruising on his pelvis. Ares (God of war, violence, and bloodshed) has some bad facial bruising and a serious laceration to his arm. These guys are both on strong pain killers and antibiotics abd are in for a long road to recovery that isnt guaranteed to be successful. 02.01.2022 Meet our newest little forest bat Styx! (Goddess of the River Styx and the personification of hatred). Styx hates me and everything I stand for but thats ok I still love her . She was found on a path by a wonderful young boy who scooped her up in his jumper and took her home so his mum could call Wildlife Victoria. We arent too sure why Styx was grounded but the strong winds weve had may have played a part. 02.01.2022 Little Ponos came in several weeks ago after being found by a cat. He had some puncture wounds and was dragging his right leg around which was a huge concern. He was severely bruised and the vets put him on some nice strong pain killers. We werent sure if he was going to recover fully but he surprised us all! He is moving the leg fine now, self feeding, and even took his first little fly! Good boy Ponos!
