11.01.2022 Greenbatch is teetering on a fine line between getting up and falling over... Please read on to help us tip this in the right direction. Reading between the lin...es with the WA Waste Authority, it looks like we aren't going to get the funding we applied for back in February. This state government support is the final but critical piece of the puzzle in establishing WAs first plastic reprocessing plant. Without this approval two years of campaigning and hard work and heaps of support from the community has the plug pulled on it just like that. So at a community cabinet event today, we asked the dozen or so Ministers present what they thought about plastic and how they were responding to China no longer taking our plastic. Our Premiers response in this video was incredibly impassioned... There is hope... After hearing about Greenbatch, after the event, our Premier Hon Mark McGowan, hand me his business card. In response, I have sent him an email trying to tee up a face to face meeting. Our proposal is sitting on the Ministers for Environments desk right now. In the next week they are due to select and announce the successful applicants. With a stroke of a pen they get to decide the future and whether WA gets a plastic reprocessing plant or not. We only have days left before the decision is made. This is our last-ditch effort to help convince our state government this is worth doing. Help us convince the Premier, the minister for environment and the WA Waste Authority by showing your support and telling your thoughts in the comments below. I will pull out my phone mid-meeting to show him the people of WA want to start dealing with our plastic!! Do we have your support? Can we get 1000 likes and 100 comments? Don't forget to share the post to try to make this go viral... If you know any politicians or anyone passionate about saving our planet from plastic, tag them in this! #waronplastic
