10.01.2022 Hey legend! YOGA!!!!! It is getting nice an warm so what better way of spending your Wednesday night????... @midmountainscrossfit Hi! I'm Vicki and I'm excited to share my passion for yoga with you at Mid Mountains Crossfit. I come from a sporting background, working for many years in a fitness centre in Bathurst as an aerobics instructor and personal trainer. In 1996 I moved to the Mountains with my husband, Andrew. It was around that time a friend dragged us along to a yoga class in Sydney. The strength, elegance and mindfulness of the yoga practice immediately appealed to me. I was hooked and I haven’t looked back. Yoga has become many things to me most importantly it became my lifeline when my husband died in 2007. And since yoga has been so beneficial for me, physically and emotionally, I felt the need to be able to pass the gift of yoga on to others. Thus it was that I began my long and arduous journey of Iyengar teacher training with Senior Iyengar teacher Lulu Bull in 2010. I am a certified Introductory Level 2 Iyengar Yoga teacher. I had a hip replacement back in 2014, which has considerably deepened my understanding of the immeasurable benefits of yoga. Every day is a day of learning and developing and progressing in my yoga practice, and as an Iyengar teacher, we undergo regular and strict professional development training. To complement my daily yoga practice, I swim regularly at Lawson pool in the summer months and Glenbrook pool over winter. And I'm a Shodan black belt in Goshin Ryu karate Cheers.

05.01.2022 BURGENER WARM UP The purpose of the Burgener Warm Up is to reinforce and dial in correct positions of the snatch and clean and jerk. Done every single day with... precision, your lifts will improve. GUARANTEED. The trick: you MUST perform every movement with purposeful intention. You cannot "go through the motions" and expect grand results. Remember, practice doesn't make perfect. PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. BURGENER WARM UP (purpose) 1. Down and Finish (creates speed through the middle) 2. Elbows high and outside (keeps the bar close) 3. Muscle snatch (creates strong turnover) 4. Snatch lands 2", 4" 6" (dials in footwork) 5. Snatch lands (full): (dials in footwork to full squat) The video features "Down and Finish". Note the "down" is initiated by driving the knees out, and the torso is upright. The "finish" is created by shrugging the hips and torso vertically, shoulders finishing slightly behind the barbell. @mikeburgener @rayregno @crossfittraining
