25.01.2022 #The100DayProject #100DaysofCreating - Day 25. I can't decide if I think this doll like creature is cute, creepy or bean bag flexible... Just a plain background with this one. Looking forward to trying some textures over the weekend I think.

23.01.2022 So I decided to try the site 21draw.com after an ad popped up on my Facebook. The class it was advertising looked so interesting. Introduction to Landscapes by Philip Sue. These are my creations. While very similar to the teachers images that he created, I‘ve learned how to create my own landscapes in a not so complicated way. I can’t wait to take some more of the classes. I need and want to get my creative groove back
21.01.2022 My completed Libra zodiac piece. These are all coming together so nicely, I can’t tell which one is my favourite. I guess I’ll just have to wait until I’ve finished all of them before deciding.
21.01.2022 #The100DayProject #100DaysofCreating - Days 26 & 27. As is my way on the weekends, I fell a little bit behind. I did however get to spend some time with my family who I haven’t seen for a good while so it was worth it. So here are day 26 and day 27. I’ve decided to take a small break from my creatures to practice some techniques with my watercolors. This will hopefully down the track, help me paint more engaging backgrounds for my creatures. Day 26 was my first attempt, Day 27 was my second attempt.

I think this particular medium although potentially very helpful for certain illustrations, is going to take me some time to master. I'm hoping I might be able to make some minor adjustments in Photoshop. This made me think of most of my friends. Actually, I don't think any of my friends are normal. They are all weird in their own special little way
19.01.2022 #The100DayProject #100DaysofCreating - Day 22. Make them smaller I said. It'll make it faster I said As I am now trying to add backgrounds to my creatures, I decided to use my white gel pen in this one to see how it went. I have to say this might be one of my favourites so far.
17.01.2022 #The100DayProject #100DaysofCreating. Sometimes life just happens. I fell behind in my 100 Day Project but I'm slowly playing catch up. I've been watching videos on watercolours, trying to learn new skills and techniques which has taken up a bit of time. But learning new things, is time well spent. Here are days 28, 29 & 30. I'm really enjoying learning new techniques and the ins and outs of watercolour. Fingers crossed, I will get myself back on track by the weekend I also learnt the difference between decent watercolours and cheap watercolours

14.01.2022 I’ve been very quiet lately. For a while actually. I had to pause my 100 day challenge, which I plan to go back to at some stage, but I just felt as though I’d lost my creativity. So I’ve been watching different lessons on watercolour painting and playing around a bit. I got some new liquid watercolours which I’m experimenting with now as well. I still feel in a bit of a funk with my creativity but I’ve also started having ideas which I’m hoping I’ll be able to start working on in the near future. So these are what I’ve been working on lately. Not much, but it’s a step in the right direction. It’s time for me to start getting tough with myself it’s time for me to believe in myself again.
14.01.2022 #The100DayProject #100DaysofCreating - Day 31, 32 & 33. I'm slowly working out how people created these beautiful galaxy pieces. Mine still need a lot of work I think, however practice, practice and more practice can only improve me. I'm now doing a class in hand lettering. I'm saving these up to add some text to I think and I'm hoping to create more in the future. Watch this space!

I can't wait to start creating some galaxy backgrounds etc with some lettering added to them Starting to feel the itch to go back to my creatures. I think after maybe a few more classes, I will happily go back to them and try to use what I have learned to make them even more amazing

After joining up for a second round of Immersion with Bonnie Christine, I’m trying to create as many patterns as I can. I’m not worried about how simple or complex they are, I’m just using the time to rediscover my love for surface design and patterns. Creators block has been a bit of an issue for me lately so I’m following the advice ‘start by making marks on a page’ the last few patterns I have created have been from these marks. Onwards and upwards!

10.01.2022 #the100dayproject #100daysofcreating - Day 37. My last practice sheet for the hand lettering class. Now I need to try and turn my own hand writing into lettering which I think might be a bit of a challenge. I might have to keep working on that one I think. Moving on to mixed medias next

I know many designers struggle with this lol How do you then pick a favorite? I like most of them if. It not all of them. But purple is my favorite colour so I pick the purple ones. And yes, I pick all of the purple ones

For anyone wanting to learn new skills I can't recommend Skillshare enough. Bite size classes with amazing teachers. I never thought I'd be into watercolours but I am absolutely loving it. I had no idea just what you can do with them.
08.01.2022 #The100DayProject #100DaysofCreating - Day 24. Progress photos only for this little creature. I haven't quite been able to finish the painting tonight. I may have gone smaller, but I'm trying to make sure everything stays in the lines. I'm also trying to add more dimension with my shading techniques. It just takes a little bit more time. Glad I'm not doing larger ones for the time being Watch this space for a completed picture.
07.01.2022 #The100DayProject #100DaysofCreating - Days 19, 20 & 21. Played a bit of catch up today. I sketched each of these on their actual days, but I did all the painting today. I like to spend time with my partner, Neal, on the weekends so sometimes I don't get as much done as I probably should. As long as I sketch every day though I'm happy. I'm now trying to plan backgrounds with these guys. Some turn out, some don't. So, I go with the flow and let them turn out how they turn out. I'm still learning, and I'm proud of what I've been able to do.

He was originally meant to be painted but I quickly discovered that all my paint has gone bad (runny, or just squeezing out clear liquid). I haven't used these paints in forever so I should have expected it. So, chameleon pens to the rescue. He's okay they, he's chilled and just going with the flow. He just don't care

04.01.2022 #the100dayproject #100daysofcreating - Day 38. Learning how to use watercolour with negative space. I think I need to slow down a bit when using this technique in order to get my lines a bit crisper and neater. I have a tendency to rush things when I shouldn't.

I'm having so much fun playing around with the different techniques that I'm learning. Soon I'll be trying to create textures with stuff like salt and rubbing alcohol. I'm also thinking of starting to add phrases so some of these
