The Australian Sports Foundation’s role is to raise money for sport, and are launching a national campaign to help community centre/clubs and organisations access funds to recover, but to do this they need your help. The more centre/clubs who fill out the survey the better understanding they will get to hear your story and go into bat for community sport! 12.01.2022 This is a story that must be shared Mackay from Albion Park couldn’t get pass 1m 20 in High jump. Last Sunday at Lake Illawarra carnival, Tsar from St George’s Basin went over to help the under 14 boys. Mackay listened and took on Tsar’s advice and was able to jump 1m30 Today Tsar went over and helped again at the high jump, giving support and guidance, Mackay jumped 1m47. This is a huge pb of 27cm in just one week. The boys are from different clubs, didn’t know each other before last weekend and are in different age groups but a new friendship has been formed. Congratulations to both the boys, you both have made the Zone and your clubs very proud.

U13-U17 (LANSW Youth State Championships) Date: 27-28 March 2021... Venue: Sydney Olympic Park Direct nominations apply for the U13-U17 via the LANSW Registration Portal. Nominations open Monday, 18 January and close on Sunday, 21 February 2021. https://lansw.com.au/championships/ Qualifying Standards must be achieved this season, under the Little Athletics specifications e.g. weights and heights and achieved when competing in their own age group. Standards (will be posted Tuesday, 22 December 2020). Top 2 from each Region then next top 8 from across the state will be selected to compete. Announcement of successful athletes will be posted HERE by 28 February 2021. A cap of 24 athletes per event. There will be NO relays for the U13-U17 age groups. Good afternoon, There is a change to the current LANSW requirements regarding the COVID Safety Plan and who is required to complete a safety plan. All centres will now need to provide LANSW with a copy of a COVID Safety Plan, if they are seeking approval to commence the 2020/2021 season. Centres will be required to have a copy of their COVID Safety Plan on hand at the time of conducting training or weekly competition activities. , Centres will still need to send LANSW a copy of the signed declaration (last page of the Back On Track Guidelines) and a copy of the COVID Safety Plan. You will find these documents by clicking here. 05.01.2022 Last night we held our Zone AGM via Zoom Meetings. Howard McGarry was elected as our Zone Coordinator for another term. Tracey Mandavy (St Georges Basin) was elected as Secretary... Scott McLaren (Shoalhaven) was elected Treasurer. 03.01.2022 Little Athletics NSW continues to closely monitor the ongoing developments regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with a view to ensuring the health and... wellbeing of the Little Athletics NSW community and the possible implications for Little Athletics as a sport. Following from our announcement on Friday that the State Championships would not be taking place last weekend, we can now confirm that the 2020 State Track & Field Championships have been officially cancelled. This is the first time in the history of Little Athletics in NSW, that a State Championship has not been held and unfortunately this means there will be no Little Athletics NSW State Track & Field champions recognised for 2020. It is regrettable that circumstances in respect of the coronavirus pandemic led to this decision and while we understand its impacts, we believe that given the circumstances and the rate of pace of change of information and advice, this decision was the appropriate one. Little Athletics, like everybody else, must do what we can to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Regarding the Australian Little Athletics Championships scheduled to be held on the 18th and 19th April in Canberra, we are expecting a decision from Little Athletics Australia later today and will provide an update once that has been received. We remind everyone of the need to continually monitor and adhere to the advice being issued by the various health authorities. We will also be providing further information and advice relevant to our members on our website, as it comes to hand, and encourage everyone to check back regularly for the latest update. 02.01.2022 Last night the Mid South Coast Zone held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the 2020-21 Grand Prix series after the Shoalhaven Gala Day was cancelled midway through due to the excessive winds. With thanks to the Shoalhaven centre we are pleased to announce that the Shoalhaven Gala Day has been rescheduled to the 17th January 2020 (we understand that this is just a week after Lake Illawarra’s Summer Carnival but it’s the only date on the calendar to reschedule it). The follow...ing conditions do apply for this carnival. 1. No further entries will be taken, only athletes originally registered for the carnival will be able to compete. 2. The carnival will be conducted again in full, however results from any Grand Prix events that were conducted at the original carnival, before it was called off will stand. There will be no additional fee for athletes and any further enquirers should be directed to the Shoalhaven Centre.

I ask that if we ask for assistance that parents please help, I know that we have a lot to look after but we are a great zone and I know we will help whenever and wherever.... A reminder to our Centres that host Gala Days that you too must consider the effects on COVID-19 when promoting your Gala Days, eg limiting the number of entries to allow for the current restrictions.
