25.01.2022 Happy 90th birthday to Doug Brenkley former Patron of our Club. Doug and his family celebrated with a tour of the Abrolhos Islands with Geraldton Air Charter. Congratulations from us all Doug!

23.01.2022 Great weekend MWAC Fly-in and Bonfire night 12 planes. Good weather

07.01.2022 It was a pretty exciting morning for a few Midwest Aeroclub members tasked with the aiding of unloading a C130 aircraft with all fours engines still running, escorting cargo trucks and Army personal out of the security gates.

06.01.2022 Nine members threw their hats into the ring for the final competition of the year - precision circuit and flapless approach to a spot landing, won by Carl from equal second Tristan & Jeff, with Tyson third. Our thanks to Shine Aviation for supplying aircraft and instructors/air judges for MWAC competitions throughout the year. Then followed our annual wind-up, an informal barbecue with annual award presentations. In the absence of President Peter due illness, Club Captain Pau...l (Butch) and Club Secretary Jeff made the presentations: Club Champion: John Kelly. Runner up was Greg Poett, Third Andrew Martin and Fourth Glenn Burns. Certificate presentation was made to the 2020 Midwest Aviation Scholarship awardee Jai Saunders who was successful in receiving this year's $7500 flight instruction Scholarship administered by MWAC. Our last three Scholarship winners were in attendance - Jai, Tyson and Jed. The Bert Christoff Memorial Award for Meritorious Achievement was won by Tristan Jenkin for, having owned his RV3 for 2 years, finally achieving his RPL and tailwheel endorsement and taking to the skies in his own aircraft. Jeff Wheat received the Al Wheat memorial Award for best Club Contributor (named after his father) for ongoing commitment in the role of Secretary and Covid co-ordination. The light-hearted wooden spoon award was taken out by Brett, not for making an error but for being found out - leaving numerous others in attendance much relieved that their indiscretions had been kept sufficiently secret! So ends 2020, we all look forward to better things in 2021
