21.01.2022 SCHIZOPHRENIA AWARENESS WEEK 2021// 154,000 people in Australia are missing out on psychosocial supports. We need to address this appalling gap now. Tony Stevenson, National CEO, MIFA During #SAW2021, MIFA is calling on the Federal and State, and Territory Governments to guarantee additional funding for psychosocial support services before the new National Mental Health Agreement is finalised in November 2021. ... We need to address the appalling gap in psychosocial support services now. In its Mental Health in Australia Report (2020), the Productivity Commission estimated that 154,000 people in need of psychosocial support services are not reaching out and accessing mental health services. Urgent action is needed by all governments who must come together to prioritise psychosocial support funding. We need new funding now to provide psychosocial supports in the community for those Australians missing out. Our national mental health depends on it. #DiscoverBetterMentalHealth #mentalhealthmatters
