24.01.2022 www.migrationsydney.com The working holiday visa (subclass 417) allows young visitors to travel and work in Australia. People under the age of 30 from certain countries, including the UK, Ireland, Canada and some European nations, can apply for the visa. It allows them to stay in Australia for up to a year and work here too - but they can only stay with employers for a maximum of six months. Working holiday visa owners can apply for a second year in Australia, but to do so they must complete 88 days of farm work by the time their first year ends.

05.01.2022 The Pathway from Student Visa to Permanent Residence ...A Very Good Little article by David Coote , Agent Poor Prior Planning and Its Consequences ... Do you know someone who is not a Permanent Resident of Australia but wants to become one? Or thinks they might want to? Urge them to make a plan immediately. And as part of that planning to get expert advice immediately. Yes, such advice will cost them. But in such a specialised area the free advice they may get from friends and relatives will probably be more expensive in the long run. In the last several weeks I have discovered a number of young people in Australia (in Sydney to be precise) on Student Visas who have no idea what the next step might be. Do they want to settle in Australia or will they just finish their studies and return home? The majority wanted to keep open the option of settling here once they had finished their studies. But in a number of cases the courses they were studying would not qualify them for any occupation on the Permanent Residence list. So what then? And even if it did, what about work experience? Most of them I met were working in cafes and such places which had no relationship to their studies. And, yes, there were one or two whom I met as guests at functions who were stacking shelves at Woolworths. Or working as cleaners. In the past I have had some overseas students come to see me in the last year of their studies wishing to prepare to apply for Permanent Residence once their course concluded. In a number of such cases it was necessary for me to plan a pathway for them which usually required changing and extending their studies. And changing their employment situation as soon as possible to get the necessary work experience. Some of them became very distressed because they were worried about how their parents would react to the need for extra expense to achieve their goal. So the sooner the planning begins, the sooner changes can be made if that is necessary. I am happy to talk to groups about the current environment for achieving Permanent Residence in Australia for a minimal cost. So be in touch, either as an individual or a group, and give me the opportunity to give expert advice in the essential planning.
