25.01.2022 Did you know Podiatrists treat all things feet - Ankle Pain, Sports Injuries, Toe Nail problems, Corns and Callus, Arthritis...the list goes on. Podiatrists are Foot Health Experts

25.01.2022 Have you been working out at home or have swapped shoes for ugg boots while spending more time at home? Its time to dig your shoes out and start wearing them again. I am seeing many people with arch pain and foot pain due to wearing sloppy shoes. Even if its just for a few hours- give your feet the respect they deserve and give the slippers a rest.

24.01.2022 To keep you safe health care needs to have a lot of waste - single use gloves and masks, lots of hand washing and paper towel. At Willunga Podiatry here are a few of the ways we operate with less waste: - Recycling and composting -Using laundered hand towels instead of single use towel where appropriate. - Retail line that is made in Australia where possible - Buying boxes of gloves in 200 instead of 100 and buying in bulk... - Paper free admin where possible See more

24.01.2022 My new favourite saying for anyone who is on their feet all day if you wouldnt wear them to the gym dont wear them to work Treat your feet to shoes that are right for the job.

24.01.2022 One piece of advice from lockdown part one - be kind to your feet If you are working out online or in the backyard- wear supportive shoes If you are gardening, renovating, painting- wear supportive shoes Keep safe and try and keep movement routines and footwear as normal as possible.

An account of one person's journey caring for their elderly parent and navigating the health care system and supports that are available. https://www.abc.net.au//adelaide/programs/mornings/11607444

14.01.2022 Looking for some fitness motivation with park run and fun runs cancelled? Today I am feeling generous - I am going to share my favourite 10km run loop. My Garmin gives me goals for stair climbing so the hills are fun :) Or maybe you are training for the Great Southern Run Fest 2020 and you need some new loops to try. https://goo.gl/maps/u1U7SmBBrrKwYYRf7

14.01.2022 Have you heard of Pacing as a strategy to manage chronic pain? Those who suffer arthritis or chronic illness will know that a boom and bust pattern of activity is common - the frustration at being stuck and in pain can lead to going too hard. And then we give up and feel worse. So instead, try breaking a task down into smaller jobs - half an hour of weeding, a 10 minute walk or even a 30minute coffee with a friend if that's all the time you have - all of these small tasks add up over time, as the wise Paul Kelly sings 'From little things big things grow'.

13.01.2022 This years World Diabetes Day is all about the important role family plays in caring for those living with diabetes. Knowing and caring for your feet is an imp...ortant part of managing diabetes but can be easily overlooked until a foot ulcer presents. The good news is with annual foot assessments and some simple self-care many people with diabetes will never get foot ulcers and their more serious complications, such as infections and amputations. And in even better news, your family can also play a role in helping take care of your feet. 10.01.2022 I often remind people that your nails are hard but do not forget they are still alive. If you wouldn't put it on your face don't put it on your toe nails.

09.01.2022 some common reasons to see a podiatrist in summer: - dry skin - footwear advice for summer - new sport and activity

08.01.2022 Video or Telephone consultations are now available. Consultations that could be done in this way include orthotic review, footwear review, follow up on exercise programs. We can also use Telehealth to gather history and information prior to your appointment to reduce face-face time in the clinic. Some points to note: - Medicare funding is available for those on Enhanced Primary Care Plans with GP - Otherwise some fee will be paid. Contact your Private Health Fund to ask if t...hey are offering any benefits - Remote Health Care does not replace face-face consultations and telehealth won't work for everyone. The aim is to keep people home as much as possible and in line with Public Health guidelines and to keep you all as fit and active as possible. See more

05.01.2022 Change of seasons is always a trigger for foot pain. Changing footwear, activities, sport and more daylight all place load on the feet that they might not be ready for. So get your summer shoes out, make sure they are in good condition now, before you wear them a day and suffer later.... Try some training for summer sports before the first match, and enjoy the extra daylight hours gradually.
