25.01.2022 Liffey Falls, near Deloraine. This image needed 3 separate exposures, one for the foliage around the falls, one for the water and the other for the middle bits. They were then blended. Cheating? Not in my opinion, the result was what my eye could see that day. This is the October image in my 2017 A4 calendar.

24.01.2022 This is the back cover of my 2017 large calendar. It's available from my website at www.mikecalder.com.au

24.01.2022 Here's the August image on my large 2017 Tasmanian calendar. It's of Douglas Creek in the middle of the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. The exposure time was 1 second.

23.01.2022 A wild day at Honeymoon Bay on the Freycinet Peninsula - I was lucky with the light for this shot. The exposure was 1/5 sec. This is the April image on my 2017 A4 calendar.

23.01.2022 This was a very cold frosty morning in Strahan - you can see the frost on the jetty. Waiting for the light tested my patience here, the jetty just to the left of me had been lit up for at least an hour before "my" jetty received the sun's rays. This is the May image in my large calendar.

20.01.2022 Dawn at Stumpys Bay in NE Tasmania. The movement in the clouds is due to the long 30 second exposure. I chose this as the cover image on my 2017 large calendar.

19.01.2022 Sunrise at Hobart Docks - a fantastic light show that morning, I'm glad I didn't miss it. This is the September image in my 2017 A4 calendar.

19.01.2022 I took this photo early one morning at Cataract Gorge Launceston. I would have liked some mist, but I got a rower instead, who appeared just in time to complete the composition. Sometimes you get lucky. This is the June image on my A4 calendar.

18.01.2022 This image is from high up on Mt Anne on the Pandani Shelf. It's a hell of an effort to get there but it was worth it and we spent 2 nights there. The pandani and the cushion plant behind it are both endemic plants to Tasmania - found nowhere else and part of what makes Tassie so special. This is the April image on my large 2017 calendar.

16.01.2022 A long exposure at dawn at Clifton Beach, in the south of Tasmania. Getting up early is always difficult - and nearly always rewarding. This is the January image in my 2017 A4 calendar.

15.01.2022 Early morning at The Nut, Stanley, in Tasmania's beautiful north west. This is the March image in my new 2017 large calendar.

12.01.2022 This image of Battery Point is the October image in my 2017 large calendar. Yes, the mountain does look like it is just behind the buildings, that compression effect happens with a long lens.

10.01.2022 This is the back of my 2017 Tasmanian A4 calendar and its available from www.mikecalder.com.au.

07.01.2022 The Arve River is a tributary of the Huon River. To get this shot I waded out into mid-stream. It was cold of course but my main concern was the slippery rocks and getting my camera gear wet. The exposure was 1.3 secs and it is the February image in my 2017 large calendar.

07.01.2022 Evening at Arthur River on Tasmania's wild west coast. I just love the wild weather and landscapes on the west coast. This is the November image in my 2017 large calendar.

06.01.2022 The beaches in the southwest are spectacular and this one at Cox Bight is no exception. I took this at the start of the day's walk with a storm rapidly approaching from the west. Ten minutes after this it started raining and didn't stop for the rest of the day. It's the February image on my A4 calendar and one of my favourites.

06.01.2022 A wow moment at sunset at Binalong Bay, in the north east. The 30 second exposure gives you movement in the clouds and the flatness in the water. This is the December image in my 2017 A4 claendar.

05.01.2022 Russell Falls Creek, below Russell Falls. I never tire of this area and it is so accessible. My exposure time for this image was 6 seconds. This is the March image in my A4 calendar.

05.01.2022 The Huon River in the morning is often gorgeous, and this day was no exception. This man had just taken possession of his boat and was happy to pose for me. It's the August image on my A4 calendar and also adorns the front cover.

04.01.2022 I woke up to a winter wonderland one July morning at the Government Huts at Mt Field - and the sun was out! Everything a photographer could ask for. This is the July image in my 2017 large calendar.

04.01.2022 Early one morning on Clifton Beach, near Hobart, I was flat on my stomach for this one. It's the January image in my 2017 large Tasmanian calendar.
