16.01.2022 ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT: PIXY STYX Pixy Styx is the dreamy Patrick Weyland-Smith. A junk electro artist who is a bit too melodramatic for his own good. A musical theatre rebel, privo-punk, classically-trained vocalist and frustrated scientist, Pixy Styx uses found sounds, samples and saxophones in his music.... The result: dance music you despair to. His cerebral disco features not only his original compositions musing on masculinity, mental health and heartbreak but also mash-up covers featuring underground classics, and mainstream bangers. Keep dancing, it’s not like the world is ending or anything... is it?

Drawing on her many years’ experience as a soundtrack composer, her original music is dynamic, dramatic and cinematic. National and international performances include Tollwood Winter Festival Munich, Karnidale Circus Festival, The Melbourne Planetarium, Club Geral, Honk! and the Cantagalo Favela in Rio de Janeiro. ... Working with an ever-expanding collection of synthesisers, electronic instruments and found sounds, Synthotronica creates music that traverses many genres, combining lush soundscapes with driving beats, heavy bass and screaming leads to produce an original sound that is evocative and richly melodic.

05.01.2022 ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT: LOUGHIE LOUGHIE'S work consists of a bold, bright, visceral aesthetic. LOUGHIE often highlights concepts of self-identity, trauma, restriction and their experience of being a queer artist in a rural town. LOUGIE'S performance at Summer Thrills will be the first showcasing of their EP set to be released at the end of 2019, with their video art to accompany, providing an intense visual experience. ... LOUGIE has been a fundamental part of Mildura Fringe from the beginning, first as an attendee, then as a visual artist and volunteer. We are so honoured to have him grace the Summer Thrills stage for the first time.

01.01.2022 INTRODUCING OUR MC'S: Bae and Gia have been wreaking havoc on the Melbourne Drag scene for over two years. With a reputation for pulling out some of the weirdest performances and a freakishly similar aesthetic, the two love nothing more than bringing their creativity to live through drag and performance. They're the sister duo nobody asked for but everybody loves. Influenced heavily by Japanese fashion, K-pop performance and gothic occult themes. You honestly never know what you're gonna get with these two, but that makes it all the more exciting.
