25.01.2022 Sporting Schools grants are designed to increase participation in sport and connect children with community sporting opportunities. Term 1 applications for funding are open now until Friday November 27. Milk Crate Circus is proud to be providing foundational gymnastics lessons to schools in the Illawarra as part of this Australia-wide initiative.

24.01.2022 Easter is a celebration of renewal and new life. It’s only autumn in Australia but spring is coming and hibernation is only temporary. Have a crate Easter everyone.

24.01.2022 This week I worked on a fun project with my awesome friend Honora from @kindarted. We made and painted our own rolla bollas for circus and balance workshops! The boards are made from marine ply so they’re suitable for big kids too! I’m really happy with how these turned out.

24.01.2022 It might be a little longer before Milk Crate Circus can properly launch These next few months will be dedicated to further preparing the business for a return to interactive physical activity. Today I’ve got all my tools set up to make some purple and some orange hula hoops! I can’t wait to bring these along to Sporting Schools workshops, birthday parties and events in the future.... Message me if you’d like a hoop made to suit you!

18.01.2022 This week was all about backward rolls and spin sticks! Two of my favourite skills to teach and often the day that my students find out they’re even more capable than they realised! Milk Crate Circus’ sporting schools program runs for a minimum of 4 weeks to build confidence in forward and backward rolls, cartwheels and a range of hand-held apparatus.

18.01.2022 I got a new work shirt! I’m hoping to have a batch of these made up ready for next year. Today I’ve been overwhelmed by the generous compliments on Milk Crate Circus’ sporting schools programme. I’m feeling really good about 2021.

08.01.2022 Milk Crate Circus is now affiliated with Gymnastics NSW and all the equipment has finally arrived ready to offer mobile circus-gymnastics classes to schools in the Illawarra. That means that schools can even request Milk Crate Circus as a Sporting Schools provider! Term 2 applications for Sporting Schools funding are now open and close next Friday 13 March 2020.

07.01.2022 Year six had their first gymnastics lesson today! One of the boys had this to say: I thought I would hate it but it was actually really fun! I’m looking forward to helping more kids to enjoy gymnastics and circus.

06.01.2022 Looking for the perfect last minute Christmas gift? Just this year I made over 60 hula hoops and I’m getting pretty darn good at it! I have a huge colour coded set now that I use in my Milk Crate Circus workshops but I also made this bunch of extra pretty ones to sell locally. With a bit of a heads up I might even make some custom hoops for an extra $5.
