Federal Golf Club has great facilities in which to play and practice, and I’m excited to help members and golfers alike to improve their game. Federal continues to progress with great new initiatives for the future. A list of services offered can be found on the Federal Golf Club website, with the addition of a 9 Hole Playing Lesson option to be added. 20.01.2022 Good Evening Everyone, I just wanted to take this opportunity to fill you in on some exciting things that will be happening with this year's Pro-Am(Saturday April 8- Sunday April 9 2017). Special Guests attending this year's event will be:... Peter Senior(Australian golfing legend!!). Marcus Fraser(A smaller legend; but an Olympian). Kerry O'Keeffe(Former Australian Cricketer and legendary ABC Grandstand cricket commentator). Tim Gilbert(Channel 9 Today show). Kieran Gilbert(SKY News Political). Ricky Stuart(Legendary Canberra Raider and Coach!). What a great line up we have. Thanks to all of them for supporting our event! ENTRY FORMS: Entry Forms for this year's Austbrokers Canberra Gold Creek Pro-Am will be made available in the golf shop next Wednesday March 8 2017. THERE ARE LIMITED POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR MEMBERS DUE TO A HUGE COMMITMENT FROM SPONSORS. PLEASE GET IN FAST TO AVOID MISSING OUT! TEE TIMES AVAILABLE WILL MOST LIKELY BE MORNING SHOTGUN ONLY. U.S. Masters Promotion: As the pro-Am coincides with Masters weekend, I've been keen to run a promotion to tie in with it. With the amazing help of David Marjoribanks and Chris Howe of Austbrokers Canberra, we have been able to secure an opportunity to put up a prize where a trip for two to Augusta National can be won to attend in 2018(more details to follow after confirmation). Coast To Coast The Golden Roast will be serving lunch on Saturday this year! This will take place under a Marquee on the driving range (to be constructed Friday 7th April). Trevinos Restaurant has a wedding scheduled for Saturday afternoon; they will be back on deck for Sunday Lunch though! I'm currently in NZ and will return Monday 13 March. 20.01.2022 It gives me great pleasure to announce that Michael Cole will commence teaching under the Millar Golf banner at Gold Creek Country Club! With a busy playing schedule, it will be great to have someone as passionate and educated as Michael delivering lessons whilst I'm unavailable. In the coming weeks we should have the option on the website to book with either myself or Michael. Until then, Michael can be contacted on 0426 848 414. You can also email Michael on [email protected] Michael will almost certainly take on nearly all clinics, group classes and junior development. I will still be about frequently when not travelling for golf, I'm not retiring. 14.01.2022 Dear Members and Clients, I will be finishing as Teaching Professional at Gold Creek Country Club on September 28th, 2017. Although there are a number of reasons, the main reason is to return to playing tournament golf before time runs out. I have very much enjoyed my time in the role of teaching professional, and have made many friendships along the way! I will still see many of you at Gold Creek, and wish you all the very best!... Clients with valid lessons or vouchers will need to have these completed by close of business Thursday September 28th, 2017. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY LESSONS CONDUCTED AFTER THIS DATE. 11.01.2022 The WA trip has come to an end! Very fortunate to play some fine golf courses over the last 3 weeks! Mandurah CC, Meadow Springs CC and The Cut GC are three I had never played....all very worthy of a visit! Thanks to Kim Felton, Darren Baynes and Aimee Christie of the WA/SA PGA Division for all their great work!

10.01.2022 Good Evening Members, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all in advance for your participation in the pro-am! Thanks for being a massive part of the event! The pro shop team have been working very hard to deliver an awesome event for you, led by Phil Mackay. However we would like to give you some information regarding the event; please have a good read.... Shotgun Start 7:15am -players need to register and be at Carts by 6:50am at the latest! WE MUST GET AWAY ON TIME IN ORDER TO MAKE THINGS FLOW ON FOR AFTERNOON FIELD. -lunch will be served from 11:20am on practice fairway in marquees on Saturday only. -the event will be an individual stableford with a teams event(best 2 stableford scores out of the 4). There will be daily prizes for singles and teams. There will be 36 hole prizes for teams and individuals. -In order to speed up play, if you can't score a stableford point, PLEASE PICK UP!! Pace of play is absolutely critical!!!! -please return golf carts IMMEDIATELY AFTER CONCLUSION OF PLAY TO THE CLUBHOUSE IN ORDER TO PREPARE THEM FOR AFTERNOON FIELD TO DEPART! -please return scorecards to pro shop or pro shop staff. -ENJOY YOUR LUNCH IN MARQUEE! 12:15 pm Shotgun start -players must register by 11:45am. -lunch will be served from 11:20am in Marquees on practice fairway Saturday only. -Carts will arrive back from Morning field between 11:45-12:15. Please just be patient whilst pro shop staff get them turned around and in order for your afternoon session. 07.01.2022 27th August 2020 Federal Golf Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Millar as Teaching Professional at the club. Matthew will join a team of PGA qualified experts and coach in conjunction with Senior Professional Andrew Welsford. Matt is an Ambassador for the club, having been named twice Australasian PGA Tour Player of the Year. The appointment of Matt in a more official capacity is a coup for members and guests of the club, having several world class optio...ns for learning and growing the game. Mark Lazenby, Golf Operations Manager said Appointing Matthew is another facet of our efforts to better connect with the surrounding community. We have some incredible upcoming initiatives in this direction including some free group classes for local residents who aren’t yet members of the club.
