Perhaps this year more than any other, many generations are beginning to understand the meaning of sacrifice and service. And then We will always find solutions. It is our responsibility as a community to say no to online bullying, as our staff and any employee At any workplace, should have the right to feel safe and free from harassment. It is ok to disagree with each other in life, but in our workplace we say to our staff and clients: Please walk in our door or pick up the telephone arrange time to see us and we Will will listen and we do care! 17.01.2022 Please be patient with us- wait times may be longer but we are doing our best with minimal staff

17.01.2022 Good morning gang how are we today? If some of you are experiencing difficulty obtaining pet food ,we are at this stage not experiencing difficulty with our suppliers we also have non prescription diets available. Just give the clinic a call if you do not wish to come in and they can arrange an order for you. We are very lucky due to the size of our clinic that social distancing is not a problem, if you are happy and healthy you are quite fine to come in for your appointments... at this stage. If you would like information about covid-19 and your pets we have a hand out for you. But at this stage there is no evidence for concern, just the usual stuff we should teach our families about hygiene pets wash your hands before and after play!! If any of you out there have ideas for ways to support our local business, please send them to SE times and the MBCA. some of our ideas are: phone your local cafe see what takeaway freezable meals they can make for you and your loved ones to help cash coming through the cafe door. Go buy some plants to do work in the garden with your kids, go to our toy shop and stock up on board games, and sports store for outdoor games, find out from your local beautician and hairdresser what alternative arrangements they are Making so that they can still see clients in a safe manner , Our local homewares stores to post ideas for gifts online to send in the mail on your behalf to all the people you wont be visiting in the next month. If we can all work hard to support our local workforce, whilst maintaining our community health responsibilities perhaps we can minimize financial stress and anxiety in our community. Thanks for being local legends. If any of our local small business owners dont have a dedicated Facebook page please feel free to post ideas of how our community can help you in response to this post. Cheers Sarah

12.01.2022 Good morning to our dear community, we wanted to say we are here and our doors are open to you and your pets and livestock. We have taken a proactive approach to protect our staff. So dont be scared if you see us in masks and gloves we are just trying to look after our community and stay healthy!!! . We are acutely aware that if one of us go into quarantine we all do. Which means we wont have anyone to attend to calvings, snake bites and parvo outbreaks that are all pretty... active in our area at the moment. So lets keep all our local small business doors open and protect the healthcare workers who are looking after us. Be a local legend and cover up your smoosh and most importantly wash your hands. If we can all do our bit to keep our hospital beds open even from flu, then our community will continue to thrive and our employee workforce can feel safe about their livelihoods. Thanks for being local legends!! One more favour, please give your local supermarket employees a smile and a thanks. #locallegend See more

09.01.2022 Melbourne Cup Celebrations

09.01.2022 Hi gang just a bit of an update from our crew. As of Monday we will have a few changes. Out team are dividing into team Flamingo and Team unicorn . This measure we hope, will give us a greater chance of ensuring no disruption to our services. We will have the same number of fabulous staff just some will be out and about for the part of the week and others will be holding the fort indoors. Please bare with us if you cant see your favourite vet on certain days. As we hope ...you can appreciate we are running a marathon not a sprint, so we intend to keep our entire family of employees for as long as we possibly can. You will see some more changes upon your visit, with a new one owner per pet in the clinic and if you are unable to leave your kids at home (as many of us cant) then we will come outside to you to ensure the safety of your family. This will allow us to keep minimal contact with each other, but will still hopefully enable us to provide a supportive low stress, caring environment for all!! You will see team flamingo in all their glory from Monday-Wednesday. Then we will switcheroo on Thursday- Saturday to team unicorn, now with with the availability of two vets on a Saturday. Thinking of you all, especially our rockstar medical staff who are working in very high stress situations at the moment. We hope you all know how loved and appreciated you are. Have a safe and happy weekend at home gang, have one gin or beer for those of us Pregnant ladies that cant. Cheers Dr Sarah. See more

06.01.2022 ADOLESCENT TRAINING WORKSHOP Do you have a dog between 6 months and 2 years of age that youd like some help training? Then dont miss the upcoming Adolescent Training Workshop to be run at the Millicent Veterinary Clinic on Thursday the 20th August 1-3pm. Adolescence is a difficult time for many dogs as they are exploring the world without fully realising the consequences of their actions. It marks the time between puppyhood and social maturation into adulthood, which is o...ften associated with exuberant behaviour and an apparent deterioration in learnt behaviours. Adolescence often involves a "fear period" lasting days to weeks where your dog is particularly sensitive (and possibly reactive) to experiences and changes. Millicent Veterinary Clinic is teaming up with Animal Behaviour Coachings Dr Emma Vermeeren to run the 2 hour Adolescent Behaviour Workshop. Throughout the workshop, you will learn: Dog behaviour, learning theory, and training methods Basic behaviours (including sit, look, on your mat, drop, loose lead walking) How to deal with undesirable behaviours (eg jumping up, mouthing/biting, digging) How to get your dog to focus and do what it is asked in the presence of other dogs and people Places are limited and we know this workshop will sell out fast so jump online and enrol ASAP so you dont miss out! Visit https://www.animalbehaviourcoaching.com.au/adolescent-behav for more info and bookings. See more

We are no longer giving COVID19 oxygen in our vet clinic, so if you want to hear a good joke or need an interesting topic of conversation we have plenty!! Our team is as always are here for you and your pets and livestock. Be kind and dont forget to check in on the people in your street.

05.01.2022 Ruby visited the shop this week so we could fit her with a new harness. We tried on 3 different styles and decided a Marlow front and back connection harness wa...s the perfect fit. We recommend bringing your dog into the shop with you so we can assist in fitting and adjusting the harness to suit your dog as theyre all unique in their shape and size! Otherwise, measuring around the chest behind the front legs (girth) helps get an approximate size.
