21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, First of all I would just like to thank the previous volunteer committee that have organised the Rockingham walk over the last few years. They did an amazing job and raised an incredible amount of money for animals in need. We are currently in the process of forming a new a committee with a planned meeting in early April. The date and location are currently being finalised and we will share the information as soon as confirmed. If you are able and keen to help o...ut this year, please send me an email to [email protected]. Thank you for your patience and again a big thanks to the retiring committee. Kind regards, Nicky RSPCA Events Coordinator

17.01.2022 Hi Everyone! We have had a few people message us to ask if the walk is going ahead in Rockingham this year. After 4 tireless years and approximately $40,000 raised, the volunteer committee decided to retire after the last walk. The RSPCA have been working with other groups and put a call out for new volunteers, however a walk for Rockingham this year has not been confirmed. They will be sure to share any updates as they become available. From the retiring committee, thank you to everyone who supported the event. Especially our wonderful stallholders. It was a pleasure to see your doggos all dressed up and enjoying their special day, even in the thundering rain! Thank you for supporting such a worthy cause and we know the new committee will enjoy the experience as much as we have.

05.01.2022 Million Paws Walk is Australia’s biggest dog walking event and holds a special place in the hearts of many people and their pooches. While it is a great day where we all come together and celebrate our love for dogs, the safety and wellbeing of our supporters, volunteers, staff and animals has always been our priority. As a result of ongoing developments concerning COVID-19, we will no longer be able to hold the public event on Sunday 17 May. But don’t put away your activewea...r just yet! We’re working around the clock to make sure you can still celebrate and support animals in need this May. After all, it is our favourite day of the year and so very important for animal welfare! We’re excited to launch ‘Million Paws Walk: Walk This May’ your fun excuse to (responsibly) walk your dog and raise money for animals in need. While social distancing is a national priority, our dogs still need enrichment and exercise. As part of ‘Million Paws Walk: Walk This May’, we’re asking supporters to safely take their dogs for a walk in their neighbourhood or backyard and keep raising funds along the way. And funnily enough, the average length of a standard dog lead is 1.8 metres which is a pretty good indication of a safe distance between you and other people! Being unable to host our event on 17 May will have a huge impact on the vital funds we need to care for animals across Australia. To ensure this important work can continue, we’re asking those who purchased tickets to allow us to transfer your tickets to a tax-deductible donation. However, we understand if you’d prefer the cost of your ticket to be refunded in this case, please reach out to our Million Paws Walk Team by emailing [email protected] As we navigate the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more information on how you can ‘Walk this May’ in support of Million Paws Walk and help us continue the fight against animal cruelty.
