24.01.2022 Since last weeks Mind Body Yoga senior primary classs theme of Be the change you want to see in the world Ive been doing a lot of soul searching and examini...ng my own whys. Why am i so driven to make my own changes and why am i so passionate about assisting others with their why and their change. I keep coming back to that quote, be the change you want to see in to world. I wish for my children to grow up with a positive body image. How do I enable that? I need to be the change I want them to be, I need to have a positive body image myself, yes it is a work in progress, but outwardly, to and for my children I show them a positive body image. I wish for my children to grow up with a healthy relationship with food - not good food - bad food - but understanding they have a choice. How do I create that choice? I show them my healthy food choices, and we discuss food and food choices in a positive manor. I wish for my children to see their bodies as healthy and strong not skinny or fat. I want them to view exercise as a positive, not a punishment for being fat. So we get outside and exercise, and play together, i speak with excitement about going to the gym to be healthy and strong. These are my choices, these are my passions. Im staring at the (wo)man in the mirror. Im asking him to change his ways and no message could ave been any clearer. 24.01.2022 Tonights post began as a philosophical conversation between my brother and I in regards to the word TRY. Anyone that has spent time with me will know this word is my number one irritant in life. This is the quote he posed on Facebook... "Im trying.Im trying to get better. Im trying to be happy. Im trying to stay focused. Im trying not to get upset. Im trying not to overreact. Im trying not to overthink. All i can do is try. No one is perfect. Dont expect me to be."... Now I ask you... Try to drop a pen, try to stop breathing, try to turn the tide. You either can or you cant. You either do it or you dont. You are either happy or not at that particular moment. Life is full of choices,what we do with that choice is absolutely up to you. I choose to be better. I choose to stay focused. I choose not to get upset. I choose not to overact. I choose not to overthink. ... or i choose to DO those things. There is so much more power and control in your life if YOU CHOOSE. Try does not exist! Doing SOMETHING is 100% better than doing nothing. You either change your thoughts or not, its your CHOICE. Its your choice to change the direction of your life... or not. It is YOUR choice to become a better version or the real you or go the easier path and continue on as you have been with the persona you have CHOSEN to create. It ALWAYS comes back to choice. Making change takes a hell of a lot of energy. Trying takes but a moments energy, but in the long run achieves nothing. Breaking down the steps is the most energy efficient way of changing. 1.Work out what is important to you. 2. work out what if anything needs changing. 3. Find ways to actually make the change. 4. Get a VERY clear mental picture of how life will look, feel and sound. Write it down, tell your loved ones, make it as if it has already happened. This picture is what will get you through when life throws up challenges to change. 5. Follow through with actually making the changes. 6. KEEP GOING and KEEP MAKING CHOICES! 20.01.2022 As we get ready for our first session of group Weight Loss hypnosis, we thought we should get to the bottom of a few common myths surrounding hypnosis. MYTH #1. The hypnotherapist can control me and make me say and do silly things. REALITY.... The hypnotist as absolutely no control over you at all and cannot make you do anything against your will or that goes against your personal values. In fact all hypnosis itself hypnosis, hypnosis is totally self-directed and self-controlled. MYTH #2 I may get stuck in a hypnotic state and not be able to wake up. REALITY During hypnosis you will always hear the therapist voice. If the hypnotherapist stops talking your own mind will pull you calmly and safely out of hypnosis. MYTH #3 Hypnotherapists have magical powers. REALITY. Dont tell our kids, but we dont have any magical powers! Both Virginia and Shae have received professional training and are internationally recognised Master Practitioners of Hypnotherapy. MYTH #4 Hypnosis only works on certain people. REALITY. As stated before, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, therefore anyone that wants to be hypnotised can be hypnotised. Of course, this also means that if you do not want to be hypnotised you cannot be hypnotised. No one can be hypnotised against their will. Any motivate person who is willing and able to focus their concentration and who cooperates with the hypnotherapist is the best client and will invariably reap the maximum benefits from the hypnosis session. MYTH #5 During hypnosis you are asleep or unconscious. REALITY. Although it may look like youre asleep, during hypnosis you will be able to hear and think at all times. Your body is very relaxed, but your mind is actually more alert than usual, in a state of heightened awareness and focus and you are fully aware of what is happening around you. There is no loss of consciousness and you can control your responses and level of involvement in the process. Each person experiences hypnosis differently, however the common feeling is one of complete physical relaxation. Generally a person under hypnosis feels as if their body has gone to sleep but their mind is still aware, alert and awake. MYTH #6 If you could hear the hypnotist during the session then you were not hypnotised. REALLITY. During hypnosis you will always be able to hear the voice of the hypnotist so you will be able to follow any instructions given to you during the session. However, after the session, you may find that you may only have partial memory of what you heard while in hypnosis.
