25.01.2022 This is an amazing thought... nature is incredible! Katrina x

25.01.2022 Check out this natural twin birth using Hypnobirthing. Amazing! Katrina x

25.01.2022 Yes. Take the pressure off the Mums. If you want to contact them just ask how they are going, rather than are you in labour yet, or have you had the baby yet? Katrina x

24.01.2022 Is it around that estimated due / guess date? Feeling under pressure to be induced? Read this mama's story about how she used our 'Baby, Come Out!' track and went into labour, naturally. ;) Melissa x

23.01.2022 Ermehgerd right in the heart feels @samsonthedood #shockmansion #randomradness

21.01.2022 This is SO true for going into labour. Not everyone goes into labour on their due date. Babies come when they are ready. Not all flowers bloom on the same day, not all mangoes fall off the tree on the same day. Why should we expect babies to be born at 40 weeks? A normal gestation is 37/38-42 weeks. Unless there is a medical reason to induce, we should let nature take its course and let the natural hormones flow that help so much in labour and the whole experience.

19.01.2022 Great guidance for all of us! "The adult should take a few deep breaths before interrupting a child, assess the childs state and then work with the child as a ...partner. If the child is not interested in doing what the adult expects, the respectful adult will say something like: I know you are enjoying playing there, but we need to get in the car now. Would you like to walk with me to the door or should I carry you? Hammond writes that this kind of approach is much better than one that demands and judges the child," See more

19.01.2022 Who instinctively would always take a good WIFF and smell of your baby when you picked them up... They just always smell so good lol http://bit.ly/31G5RQC

18.01.2022 Isnt nature incredible! Flowers open when they are ready just as the cervix opens when it is ready... Leave nature to do its thing (unless there is a real medical reason to intervene). Katrina x

18.01.2022 Kate Middleton shares her story about doing Hypnobirthing with all 3 of her births. What a great role model. Katrina x

18.01.2022 Whats inside the umbilical cord? There is a large vein, which carries the oxygen-filled blood from the mother to the baby via the placenta and two smaller arte...ries, which carry oxygen-depleted blood and waste back to the mother via the placenta. The cord is filled with a jelly-like substance called Whartons Jelly that protects the vein and arteries from being compressed during baby movements, labour and birth. . After birth when the baby takes its first breath, blood is shunted to the lungs and the two arteries constrict to stop the flow of blood and the vein collapses. The vein and arteries then close and become ligaments - the ones closer to the belly button serve no purpose but the more internal parts become part of the circulatory system. How amazing is the human body? . .. . 18.01.2022 Yes! You are a strong woman. You are an empowered woman! Katrina x

17.01.2022 Birth Story - We cannot sing the praises of hypnobirthing enough! http://bit.ly/30Vt3sJ

15.01.2022 So true. Position, position, position! Upright positions are going to be so much better than laying on your back. Gravity is helping... Ever tried to do a poo while laying on your back? Same deal. Upright is so much more natural and helpful. Katrina x

15.01.2022 Here is a great explanation (by fellow Hypnobirthing Australia practitioner Vicki Hobbs) of what happens to a babys circulation once they are born. Once they take their first breath, their circulation changes and they get their oxygen via the lungs instead of the umbilical cord. Nature is incredible! Katrina x

15.01.2022 Some good information on perineal massage. A subject that doesn’t seem get discussed much in general conversations about pregnancy and childbirth. Katrina x

14.01.2022 So 2020 was a bit crazy with lockdowns and restrictions. Let’s trust that 2021 will be a year of positives. So, I have recommenced hypnobirthing classes again this year - starting with a lovely couple doing a refresher course with me as they are preparing for their 2nd babe! You’ve got this guys!

14.01.2022 "...the researchers found delaying the bath from two hours (the previous standard) to at least 12 hours increased how many moms exclusively breastfed their babies and went home planning to do so. They also saw the babys body temperature remained more stable by delaying the bath."

14.01.2022 Ha ha! Social distancing is hard sometimes... Katrina x

14.01.2022 Congratulations to one of my beautiful Hypnobirthing couples - Darcy and Luke on the arrival of Maisey! Look at the wonderful affirmations wall!

14.01.2022 Interesting! There is no replacement for our natural release of hormones (oxytocin and endorphins etc). Katrina x

13.01.2022 We talk about this is our Hypnobirthing classes. We can bond with our babies while they are in the uterus. They can hear our voices. They will be soothed by the same voices once they are born. So, talk to them, sing to them, read to them before and after they are born. Katrina x

13.01.2022 On this day, International Women’s Day, let us unite and celebrate the awesomeness of women all over the world!

12.01.2022 Tune in to the Today show tomorrow morning to see and hear Melissa talking about Hypnobirthing (like a princess).

12.01.2022 Wishing all of my previous, current and future clients - Mums, Dads, Bubs, Families - a very Happy and Healthy 2020! Weve got this... no matter what turn life takes! We have the techniques/skills to deal with anything that comes our way. Looking forward to an exciting year ahead. Katrina x

11.01.2022 Yep. This is true... Katrina x

11.01.2022 A few ways to induce those ‘feel good’ hormones. During labor you can induce them by using your senses - touch (massage), smell (aromatherapy oils), sound (music, hypnosis tracks), visual (visualizations, affirmation board). We have the power to induce ‘happy’ hormones (oxytocin and endorphins), get rid of ‘stress’ hormones (cortisol and adrenalin). This not only makes us feel better but relaxes our body which helps the birthing process. Katrina x

10.01.2022 We love it when you all share photos of your experience when attending a Hypnobirthing Australia course. If you have attended a course we would love for you to ...share your photos with us by tagging us or using the #hypnobirthingaustralia hashtag. Be sure to head over and follow us on Instagram too @hypnobirthingaustralia . We have over 150 practitioners all over Australia and this beautiful Mumma Ashleigh from @thefit_mama shared: "Never did I think I would use the word EXCITED for the actual birthing aspect of pregnancy.. Ive been crossing my fingers (& toes ), hoping I would be but to be honest, didnt really believe it would be possible! . Until... I met Shari from @belly2birth! @raybrowns_life and I came away from our Hypnobirthing class on the weekend with so much incredible knowledge to do everything in our control to create the best possible birthday for our little bubba. The techniques we have learnt in just one session are so valuable & have changed our whole mindset and attitude towards birth. The homework isnt so bad either , nightly massages and relaxation with my husband? What more could a woman ask for!?" . . . . . . #hypnobirthing #hypnobirthingaustralia #hypnobubs #hypnobirthingclasses #hypnobirth

02.01.2022 This is an excellent article about caring for your baby through the COVID-19 pandemic. It covers breastfeeding, daycare, what to do if you get sick, how to acce...ss medical help, measures to put in place and more. Its a very good article and I recommend all mamas (pregnant, too) have a read. Melissa x http://theconversation.com/coronavirus-with-a-baby-what-you
