11.01.2022 Buried deep in the southern Kansai region connecting Tokyo and Kyoto is a place where Buddhism walks and worships. Monks have performed ascetic training here since the 6th century travelling between holy Oji shrines in pursuit of a deeper spiritual understanding. Some of the most significant shrines of Japanese Buddhism live within this forest plus the world’s only UNESCO World Heritage hot spring still open to the public. To this day people from all over the world come to the Kumano Kodo to perform their own journey and experience the forest one step at a time. 09.01.2022 Let's talk survival. What is the drive within us to survive? When does it kick in? How does it serve us? Juliane Koepcke knows survival. This astonishing woman fell 3 kilometers from an aircraft struck by lightning and lived only to walk for 10 days through the jungle alone searching for help. She used the knowledge she had about the rainforest and the drive to live to carry herself out. She was just 17 years old at the time. Later, Juliane shared that the loneliness is what... drove her most to continue onwards. You never quite know what you have in you until you have to use it.
