25.01.2022 Personal issue close to my heart. Raw egg and alcohol challenge .... A long post. Not everyone might agree. That’s ok. Still think the article is worth a read. ... https://www.abc.net.au//mental-health-facebook-dr/12249312 The short version : The idea of the challenge is great. Raising funds and awareness for your cause or charity of choice is great. Perhaps it just needs a little rethink. Our challenge is this. Why not leave alcohol out of it? Why not consider donating locally to Deni MHAG ( Deni Mental Health Awareness Group )? Raising awareness of mental health and mental illness and increasing our community’s literacy around this is what we do at Deni MHAG. We use those funds right here in Deni and smaller regional towns around us addressing the needs of our rural communities. Basically. Let’s do it in Deni! Donations can be made through Channel4Change. It remains a passion for Brenda Norman to improve mental health outcomes regionally and locally. Brenda continues to swim during these winter months to raise awareness and funds through Channel4Change. It certainly does not have to be $ 200. Any donations are welcome. You can jump onto https://channel4change.com.au to Read more or donate to this cause. Of course if your preference is Beyond Blue, they are a lifeline to many. And more importantly post a message encouraging your mates to get help. To reach out. Break the stigma. To ask are you ok? To make a phone call. To have a yarn. To speak to their doctor. To jump online and look at resources. Post it on our Deni MHAG Facebook page @denimhag or your own page. If you agree, please share. If you don’t agree. Enjoy the egg mix. It’s still a great initiative to talk about mental health. https://www.abc.net.au//mental-health-facebook-dr/12249312

22.01.2022 Good Morning Deni We continue to share local resources around mental health. This page walks you through the step by step process of getting counselling- wher...e to start and options available. Over the past month we have heard lots of people saying they are now starting to struggle with this second wave of Covid-19 restrictions. If this is affecting your functioning and increasing symptoms of depression and anxiety, please reach out for help. Please share with someone you think could benefit from talking to someone about what is happening for them.

19.01.2022 I just watched this and it hit home in so many ways on a personal level. I’ll share this as I believe there are people who can find strength from this message , and from our experience. You need about FIVE minutes for this, but hope it helps some people who continue to deal with similar situations. For the past 17 months we have been trying to reasonably deal with an organisation to get some closure around a practices which resulted in a significant psychological workplace... injury for someone very close to us. Sadly, what we thought were reasonable requests and actions, to enable injured parties to be safe and to get closure, ended like it did for this wonderful Teacher. With corporate power-over behaviours and legal letters. With having to walk away from a job they loved and people they loved. It was never about who was right or wrong. It was to ensure practices changed and it would not continue to happen. In the end , sadly the individuals did not count. There are many people in our community still having to deal with this on many levels when it comes to some work places. You will recognise yourself if you are one of those people. This message is for each and everyone of you. You deserve better. We know this can be hard where employment is limited. Circumstances are tough. And our community is compromised. And not everyone has options. But just know. You are not alone ; there are others feeling the same way and there are people who do understand. We know, that even talking about it to others can put you at risk. But know, There is help. Share if you know someone who might benefit from this message Feel free as always to send me a private message or comment , as many had done in the past. Because we know, that even a like to something as generic as this can trigger and anxiety and fear for action and retribution. I will always treat this with it utmost confidentiality and respect. Take care. Stay safe

02.01.2022 Every day is a new beginning. On my walk this morning I reflected on the fact that we can beat ourselves up for not sticking to a goal or a New Years resoluti...on . I certainly fall into that trap and mindset at times. But we are able to reset any day of the week. Any day of the year. All we need is a bit of kindness to ourselves.
