25.01.2022 Part of my morning routine in winter, if I get to the office early enough, is to have a bowl of porridge before my first clients of the day. The warm porridge, along with my coffee in my favourite mug, give me a moment to get centered and grounded and ready to start my work day. What are your favourite bits of your morning routine? - Sahra #morningroutine #porridge #psychologist #mentalhealth #mindandbody #selfcare

25.01.2022 We all have different ways of coping with the stresses that life throws at us, but some have bigger consequences for our mental and physical health than others. 24.01.2022 Struggling to know how to begin? Using SMART goals is a helpful tool to help us see where we want to go and how we're going to get there. Thinking about specific outcomes and how we can breakdown tasks is a great way of approaching hard things. Taking a moment to reflect on how the goal sits with our values, and making sure we have the resources at hand to make a proper go of it can help us put things into focus. Lastly, creating a timeframe helps us determine if our g...oal is short term or long term, and sometimes having a deadline can help motivate us to act. If you think you would find it helpful to talk to someone about making some smart goals, get in touch at www.mindscapepsychology.com.au

20.01.2022 I happen to work with quite a few clients with underlying chronic health conditions. From chronic fatigue, chronic pain, to degenerative conditions, or conditions prone to flare ups due to stress, the weather, or just random stuff being different. We work in a way that supports you to identify and use your strengths, so you’re not just thinking about the seemingly normal stuff you don’t feel like you can do. Articles like this are important so people who don’t have or und...erstand your condition can empathise with what you’re going through. But you already know this stuff, and are probably feeling shame and frustration at not being able to get stuff done that others can consider the basics. I’ve supported so many clients with chronic conditions to accept themselves, and live the kind of life they want to be living, despite their conditions. And I would love to help you too. If this sounds like you, give us a shout. Yours in empowerment, Sahra #mentalwellbeing #chronicillness #mentalhealth #stigma #breakthestigma #tuneintomentalhealth #psychology #therapy

19.01.2022 Some of you may have watched Sahra's video yesterday, but if you didn't we have some wonderful news!! We are so pleased to announce that the number of medicare rebated sessions has been increased from 10 to 20 for anyone on an eligible Mental Health Care Plan. The 10 extra sessions will be available as of the 10th of October and will require a review from your GP/Referrer to determine the need for the additional sessions. We recognise that this change shows a growing understanding of the need for ongoing mental health services, especially as we continue to navigate life in this COVID season

18.01.2022 #FridayFunny #goodbyeoldfriend It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my pink clipboard. I have had this clipboard since Mindscapes inception, and it has steadily fallen apart and disintegrated over the last several years. If you have been a client of mine, you will be familiar with this important tool of my trade, and will probably have noticed that I always give you a nicer, newer, plastic or wooden version and have kept my scraggly old pink one for mysel...f. Joanne has, for quite some time, been gently pointing out my somewhat toxic relationship with this clipboard, but I was not able to let it go. Until today. The clipboard has now been reluctantly replaced with a shiny new green version, which I plan to hold onto for the next 6ish years, all being well. Vale, clipboard. You were an icon, a friend, a holder of worksheets, and somewhat of a nuisance to clean up after. With bittersweetness, Sahra
