25.01.2022 In everything we do, our volunteers collaborate and engage with each other to create solutions together. It is through this teamwork that we can ensure a person... and/or community is safe during an emergency. Our commitment: keeping South Australians safe. https://www.ses.sa.gov.au/site/home/volunteer.jsp

24.01.2022 What a wicked training session last night delivered by Julian Craig Training, on 'Things That Bite and Sting' out in our patch (snakes, spiders, insects), and h...ow to deal with an encounter, as well as how to apply the first aid. Awesome mix of Coober Pedy emergency services in attendance. CFS, SES, SAAS, and Hospital Staff. Not to mention all the business that these people work for also. Always good to do something different for training that helps our volunteers during emergency situations, while also giving them some knowledge to use in their private life. Joel Kowald

15.01.2022 It’s R U OK? Day, a day that reminds and encourages us to ask our family, friends and peers Are you OK?, allowing us to meaningfully connect with people and support anyone struggling with life. This is such an important question to ask, and we encourage our volunteers and staff to have these conversations with each other and at home to support one another. We’re always there to help, so let’s make sure we help each other and ask R U OK? For more information about today and ...tips on how to start the conversation, visit the R U OK? website. https://www.ruok.org.au/

04.01.2022 We’ve got quite a bit of wind and rain forecast over the next couple of days, so it’s time to start thinking about how you can be prepared to stay safe. If you’re out camping or travelling around, avoid parking cars and setting up camp in creek beds so you don’t end up floating away. If roads become flooded or there’s fast flowing water around, don’t risk itturn the car around and find another way, and keep kids and others safe by not walking, playing or riding through it.... Ensure that your shelf on top of the dugouts are clean and ensuring water will flow away. Make sure that your driveways and front yards are tidy and allow water to flow away from your house or dugout. If you would like sand bags in preparation please contact the Council to collect. It is always better to be prepared and prevent water from entering then calling for assistance!! Our volunteers are always here for you. For emergency SES assistance, call us on 132 500. For life-threatening emergencies, call 000 immediately. Want more tips to be prepared for floods? Visit our website. https://www.ses.sa.gov.au/site/flood.jsp
