21.01.2022 After all the stress and worry of the last few months it is nice to hear the relief is now hitting business bank accounts. As always there is LOADS of misinformation getting about regarding JobKeeper. If you need assistance, or know someone that does, please let us know - we have spent so much time the last 6 weeks researching and training and doing our absolute best to stay ahead of the game on behalf of our clients. We are still here working away and we are happy to help.... After being caught out one too many times this week I think we officially need to switch back to 'office attire' though. 12.01.2022 Call the midwife The lovely Kieran confirmed that Toni is NOT expecting. It was just the Tim Tams as expected! Today we got to chat tax and midwifery with Kieran from The Nest Southwest Midwifery. These are two of our favourite subjects so we couldn’t resist a sneaky Doppler pic ... While we dream of one day becoming midwives, Kieran has no desire to become a tax accountant...so for now we are happy to help

11.01.2022 We Support - Childcare Providers Sharon from Annie's Angels Play And Development Centre was one of the first bookkeeping clients I took on after arriving in Harvey. Her business and mine, while in different industries have evolved alongside each other within our community. We have forged a strong working relationship despite many professional challenges for both of us over the past 10 or so years. Sharon's passion for, and commitment to, early childhood education is infectio...us. In the early days when neither of us were quite as time poor we would sit and discuss education and parenting and occasionally tax and payroll. As our respective businesses have grown, we have had many chats about her industry and mine and the issues we face - although neither of us predicted her centre would flood! Annie's Angels provides a much needed support service to working parents, and families and employs locals in the process. In an environment that sees constantly changing government legislation and very heavy industry regulation it becomes clear just how much passion she has to continue to offer the service. The Annie's team have looked after my own children like their own, and it has been a pleasure to see so many young employees gain their qualifications locally and to see so many of them now having their own families. It is also a great career path to those returning to the workforce after having their own family. We are proud to partner with Sharon and the team, as they continue to support their staff and families and offer an invaluable service to the community.

07.01.2022 Over the years I’ve had many discussions with clients over the pros and cons associated with working with family. Often I very strongly advise against it...and yet here we are...I’ve done it again! Welcome to the MN team (again!!) Elle. Elle has worked with us on a casual basis over the last few tax seasons so knows what’s she’s in for already. She is the motivational force behind our other family business and has learnt to bookkeep like a boss. Let’s face it she had no choice! We are very much looking forward to Elle pulling Toni and I into line for another busy season. In the mean time I think I need to up my brow game.

07.01.2022 We knew from the start we wanted a ‘real’ website. One with ‘real’ pictures of us and ‘real’ pictures of our clients no stock images.With the help of our talented clients Abbey Fiore Makeup and Anna Rees Photography, we set out to capture what we wanted our site to feel like. Then we handed over the idea to Snap Mandurah and WOW! Awesome service from start to finish and they just seemed to get ‘us’ and what we wanted from the start! Creating this website (and flow on mark...eting to come) has been a dream for years. What was always put on the backburner ended up being a smooth process - we should have done it years ago when we had a few less wrinkles. We can not thank our clients ENOUGH who were brave enough to be in our photos or pen us a testimonial. It certainly isn’t easy in front of the camera and it can be hard to find the right words to describe us and what we offer. Fortunately, Miranda loves words and is writing this post and I have it on good authority she was a little more comfortable in front of the camera than Tones! In fact, we are considering releasing Toni’s blooper roll for a box of Corona’s. 02.01.2022 4 years ago we took over this office and we have loved every minute in our little corner. Mrs Cusmano has been a wonderful landlord. Sadly we have outgrown the space here and it’s time to move on. The office now looks nothing like this of course - will miss this little space so much. We’ve got a bit more time to say goodbye and have a proper farewell ...Will share new office pics and details as soon as we are settled. For now it’s back to work

02.01.2022 We try really hard to have Friday’s off work. (For a few months of the year at least!) An extra special reason to be out of office today ... Miranda’s Will turns 13 Toni’s Georgie turns 8... We love adding to the chaos and confusion with kids born on the same day and kids that look alike

02.01.2022 Who better to kick off our 'We Support' campaign than Candis - our local butcher! We have helped Candis with her Tax + Bookkeeping needs since 2013. We also support her by buying her produce - our faves are the jerky and hot lunches...pork crackle is a lunch food right?... Over the next few months we will be sharing some of our brave clients pictures - thanks for the ongoing support of our business Candis and team.

01.01.2022 What a week! We still have some Saturday clients booked in before we can relax completely. Thanks for the referrals and continued support - we really appreciate it! We love helping people and it’s so refreshing to get new clients who experience us and what we stand for : ... We will never charge more just because you earn more. We will never charge more just because you work FIFO We do discount low income earners and first time tax returners. This week we’ve seen quite a few first timers and we love educating them about their tax experience and what to expect going forward. Nerdy maybe - but someone’s gotta love tax! If you’re about to wind up for the week - enjoy the weekend!
