22.01.2022 How good are the ‘Ranges! Songs and sizzling snags to support refugees and people seeking asylum. This morning at the Woodend Library Hall three Choirs; the Wo...odend Warblers, Takt, and Miranda’s Picnic combined for a Christmas concert that also raised funds for MRRAR..in all $653 in donations from those who enjoyed a wonderful program. The faces of the audience showed how uplifting song can be. Thank you to all those who made it possible.. the choirs and the audience. At the other end of town, there was our Christmas Foodbank collection and sausage sizzle at Coles supermarket. Two carloads of food and $345 were collected. The food will be transported to ASRC on Monday for distribution to their clients. Thank you to Peter, Geoff, Rosie, Cynthia, Eleanor, Fay, Marg, Bill, Greg, Pauline , Kevin and all who helped out or donated today. The money raised will be put to use as soon as possible. Agencies that we have helped recently are the Brigidine Asylum Seekers project, $1000, Friends of Refugees $1000, but we also helped a family who were struggling to find $400 for school supplies for their two teenage daughters. If you missed us at Coles but would still like to donate non perishable foods, toiletries or sundries from the list you can leave them at the collection point in Woodend’s St Marys Anglican Church foyer.
22.01.2022 What’s the recipe for a perfect start to your Christmas season? Combine delicious food with beautiful music and stir in compassion and charity. On Saturday 7 December, as well as stocking up on fresh regional produce at the Woodend Community Farmers’ Market, you can enjoy an inspiring concert featuring three local choirs and help vulnerable people to reach safety and shelter in the true spirit of the season. Performing separately and together, the choirs Miranda’s Picnic..., Woodend Warblers and Takt will present a family-friendly, one-hour program of Christmas carols, traditional and classical songs, pop and world music. Entry to the concert is by donation to Macedon Ranges Rural Australians for Refugees to support the just and humane treatment of refugees and people seeking asylum.
22.01.2022 It's gig season! After singing at Romsey Neighbourhood House on Friday night, we sang at Woodend Primary School's fête at Carlsruhe on Saturday morning and met another Miranda pictured. Only 3 more sleeps until our joint concert with the Woodend Warblers and Takt - in the Woodend Community Centre (library hall) at 10.30am this Sat! Please come along and help raise funds for Macedon Ranges Rural Australians for Refugees
20.01.2022 Maybe this is a thing...

17.01.2022 Enjoyed hearing the Woodend Warblers during the Twilight Market last night! Looking forward to warbling with them from 10:30am on 7 December in the Woodend Community Centre (the hall in the library building). Our combined concert, also featuring Takt, will raise funds for Macedon Ranges Rural Australians for Refugees during the Woodend Community Farmers' Market.
15.01.2022 This looks like fun! We'll be singing a set from around 7.30pm. Join us, sisters, brothers and others, at Romsey Neighbourhood House for a great night out for a great cause: ending violence against women.
15.01.2022 Love the Spookies. Share if you like
13.01.2022 This is how we choir now. Outdoors on public land, socially distanced, with extra-roomy singing masks courtesy of skilful Robyn Zumstein. Though the masks make us look like muppets and the spring weather is a bit chilly, it's still sooo much better than Zinging (singing on Zoom). Cons: You can't mute anyone; you have to wear pants and you have to turn your head to see everyone. Pros: You can sing in sync, hear all harmonies at once and enjoy a real-world, actual, live, human social experience!!! Possible name change: The Masked Mirandas?

13.01.2022 Fingers crossed...
12.01.2022 opportunity for MP... or any other singers - a new Australian Christmas Carol... sounds like fun!
12.01.2022 Yeah... Zoom sux for choirs. Big ups to all singing groups out there who are keeping it together apart like the The Spooky Men's Chorale
08.01.2022 Been experimenting with the Acappella app, so appreciate just how clever this is.
05.01.2022 We've been running virtual rehearsals. It's been a bit like this, but we're starting to get on top of the technology. We can have only one singer unmuted at a time otherwise cacophony results from the inevitable delays. At least it's keeping us all in voice and in touch and (mostly) sane
04.01.2022 Like a lonely choir member practising without her friends to avoid Coronavirus
04.01.2022 Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Yael Morris. Simply stunning artistic expression capturing this moment in history! So good to see big groups finding a way to perform together and potentially reach an even wider audience
