24.01.2022 The issue I have is the systematic failure of an institution that has huge political influence, is tax exempt and above the law. Not all but some within the system turn a blind eye! How does this continue to happen?

24.01.2022 Well, it has been a long time coming, but the committee of management is delighted to now be in a position to re-open our lovely little reserve to the public. We ask that everybody please take note that this is an unstaffed facility, and as such, it is important that all visitors take all personal precautions to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. Stay safe out there, and happy Spring to you

10.01.2022 Today marks three years since our Royal Commission into Family Violence handed down its final report. We made a promise to Victorians and I made a promise to... Rosie Batty that we would implement every single one of its recommendations. But words are nothing without actions. And actions cost money. So we made that commitment. $2.7 billion to make a real, lasting change. We've come a long way in those three years more than half of the 227 recommendations have been delivered but there's still a long way to go. This coming Tuesday, the Federal Government will hand down its final Budget before Australia goes to the polls. They have that same choice. They can make family violence a national issue and put it firmly on the national agenda. Or they can keep paying lip service to this country's number one law and order issue that sees a woman die every week at the hands of someone she knows. They need to get it right.

01.01.2022 Our Mirboo Community Christmas is coming up - just one week away today. Everybody is welcome, so please come along and help local families celebrate the season and the grand opening of our spiffy new BBQ. Friday 30th November, 6pm onwards. Please bring dinner and drinks for self, a plate of desert to share, and some coins if you like a raffle.... Many thanks to the Mirboo North & District Community Foundation and the South Gippsland Shire Council, whose community grants programs helped make the purchase of this free community BBQ possible.

01.01.2022 Code Red and Extreme days can be devastating. If one is declared and you live in a fire prone area, be ready to leave the night before or early morning of. Avoid areas like dense bush for the day. #PlanActSurvive
