25.01.2022 Dear Mirripoa Families, A special thanks to all of our families who continue to support their children during remote learning 2.0. A reminder that students are expected to have their camera on at all times during the ‘live’ sessions. Also students are not to change their names as they appear on the screen otherwise they will be removed from the meetings for security reasons and will be marked absent. Thank you, Mirripoa PS

23.01.2022 Dear Mirripoa Families, Thank you so much for the tremendous support that you have and continue to provide our wonderful learners during our remote learning program. We really respect and appreciate everything that you have done while completing your own work from home at the same time. This morning, Premier Daniel Andrews announced that Victorian government school students will begin a phased return to classrooms before the end of May, following advice from Victoria’s Chief... Health Officer that it is safe for the community to do so. From Tuesday the 26th of May, all Prep, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students will return to on-site learning at government schools. The next fortnight, and a pupil free day at all schools on 25th of May, will give staff, schools and families time to prepare for the change. Vulnerable students in years 3 to 6 and children in those years whose parents or carers cannot work from home, can continue to attend school on-site as needed during this period. Students in the broader year 3 to 6 cohort will continue to learn remotely until Tuesday 9th of June, to give the Government and the Chief Health Officer time to monitor and evaluate the effects that the return to school by other year levels has on the increased movement of people and transmission within the community. We will provide our families with more information as it becomes available.

When we receive the updated DET School Operations Guide we will pass the information as soon as possible to families. Kind regards Darryl Diment Principal

Thank you to all of our families who have taken the time and effort to contact our teachers and recognise their incredible work to provide meaningful lear...ning for our students. A big appreciation to everyone who completed our Remote Learning at Mirripoa Primary School Survey. The feedback was very positive and it was important to hear about our students’ experiences, successes and challenges. We also received some constructive feed forward that will be used to adjust and change the program where possible and practicable. Remote learning is different from onsite learning but we are all working together to provide the best learning that we can for our students. See more

07.01.2022 This term at Mirripoa Primary School, students from Foundation to Year 6, have been exploring a variety of art ideas, materials and techniques, as well as famous artists from history. As materials have been limited at home, students were given art learning experiences that were achievable with what they have at home or around them. We are very proud to see so many wonderful artworks being created at home. We have made a little video of some of the work students have created, so that we can, as a school community celebrate the creativity of all our students! Well done to everyone and we look forward to sharing more artworks in the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7CzeGz_3jM
