25.01.2022 EXTRA CURRICULAR'S PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION WEEK This is the chance to show off your photography skills, whether it be on a phone camera or DSLR camera. Each day you will have a task set for you, to take the best possible picture of the assigned topic. It will go as follows: ... Monday 24/08: Picture of your choice (anything you want)! It could be a picture you took prior lockdown - a trip you went on or something you used to enjoy doing. Tuesday 25/08: Outdoor setting, e.g - footpath, birds, trees, lake, anything of the outdoors - this means you must try to utilise the 1-hour outdoor leisure. Wednesday 26/08: Picture of a family member or a family pet Thursday 27/08: The Sunset (you can catch it just before Maghreb adhan) Friday 28/08: A nicely plated meal You may edit your photos to make it appear more aesthetically pleasing, that is also considered an art of photography. The Media Department is excited to share with you this video about some of the things that might be happening in your home during quarantine -- from the perspective of Grade 6 students. As part of the Independent Schools Victoria's Film Festival exploring the theme "red box", we worked closely with the Grade 6 Media Elective students to film and submit their portions of the video. In the past few years the Media Department have produced inclusive films as part of the Focus on Ability Short Film Festival featuring someone from our school who is facing challenges. Alhamdulillah in 2018 with the film "Hear in My Shoes" we won in the major category (Australian School Documentary - Judge's Choice) for our story based on Saida - a young student who has low hearing and yet is prospering at our Colleg...e. 05.01.2022 As part of the Focus on Ability Short Film Festival that challenges filmmakers to feature the abilities of someone with a disability, we entered for the second time in 2019 and our video with "Layla's Condition" - telling the story of one of our own staff members Ladina Hussein who has lived with Lupus for most of her life. Unfortunately, Ladina is no longer with us. We lost a true warrior and compassionate soul but her legacy still lives on - through her powerful story tha...t will continue to have an impact on us and those that knew her and her story.
