15.01.2022 Real-world Learning For our Year 10 learners, Fridays have been designed to allow for personalised learning and training opportunities for a successful transition from school to workplace. This day is formally known as a Flexible Learning Day. Each Year 10 learner will receive their own program for this day. This will involve either online learning to enhance their current numeracy and literacy skills, or time to attend/work through Certificate or Apprenticeship modules, or to attend workplaces to get on-the-job skills and experience.

06.01.2022 Introducing our team for 2021 We've been working hard to bring to life our school at the new site. We can't wait to share it with you from next week. Today, for the first time, we had the whole team together, including three of the Board (Pepa, Margi, Garry - we missed you Dan!). It was an amazing day of co-creating and getting to know each other.... What an extraordinary group of people we have to walk alongside our learners and support them in their learning journey. A shout out to our teachers - Kat, Kirsty, Lee and James; our learning enablers - Tahnee and Dave; our learning support goddess - Pauline; Health and Wellbeing Specialist - Sarah; and our office manager - the amazing Mel. Thank you also to Toby from Leading with Strength who spent a lot of time with us today, facilitating processes around articulating our WHY. It was an outstanding day all round. We're so excited to open our doors to learners next week.
02.01.2022 Connecting with the great outdoors and each other We're almost at the end of the 2020 school year and what better way to mark the occasion than with a fantastic school camp. Three nights and four days on Moreton Island Adventure Camp - snorkelling, 4WDing, sand tobogganing, fishing, swimming, hiking ... Everyone had a brilliant time and the weather couldn't have been better! Welcome back everyone.... Thanks Craig and Bruce from Moreton Island Wilderness Camp!
02.01.2022 INTRODUCING: MY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL As our school is no longer based in Maleny we've been exploring potential new names since our relocation. There's been conversations with our young people and adults about possibilities for the name. There were lots of ideas but we landed on one that we believe captures the essence of who we are - a school focused on the individual needs of our learners. On Tuesday the Board endorsed the new name that was unanimously agreed as the favourite - My Independent School. We hope you love it as much as we do!
01.01.2022 Only two sleeps to go until we can share our new site at Beerwah. We're so excited!
01.01.2022 We've Moved! After a HUGE two days we've finally moved everything into the new site. I had a fantastic crew helping me. I got to drive a truck up and down the mountain a few times - incident free! #winning Plus the hours of Tetris that two people did as young people paid off with the most impressive pack of all time (see pic). Incredible effort. Thank you Anthony, Jeremy, Ken, Hayden and Jason. You rock. In the new year it will be all hands on deck to set up our fabulous new... site. We cannot wait for you to see it. Stage 1 is a large open space, but we've got so much room - and air con! Have a safe Christmas and New Year and we will see you in 2021. Love, laughter and light Angie See more
