24.01.2022 Model and author Chrissy Teigen has recently shared her experience of miscarriage and grief via social media. Chrissy writes, "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before...On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it." Sharing these raw experiences helps open up conversations about miscarriage and helps women and families feel less alone. https://www.vogue.com//chrissy-teigen-miscarriage-pregnanc

22.01.2022 Please check out this video to hear Dr Jade Bilardi give a summary of our most recent research paper: "The need for improved emotional support: A pilot online survey of Australian women’s access to healthcare services and support at the time of miscarriage". Next, we are planning to conduct a larger study to see if these results are reflected in a broader sample of Australian women. Through these results, we hope to show that there is a greater need for miscarriage support.

21.01.2022 There tends to be a lot of questioning afterwards, like, ‘Have I been too stressed at work? Did I eat something wrong?’, she says. It is common for women to feel shame or guilt or like their body has betrayed them. While these feelings can be common, this can also contribute to the silence and stigma around miscarriage. On the contrary, experiences of miscarriage are often related to factors outside of our control and can be associated with optimal maternal health. You ca...n read more about rethinking miscarriage in this article from New Scientist which includes an interview with our researcher Jade Bilardi. https://www.newscientist.com//mg24732940-900-the-real-rea/
