21.01.2022 Round One of the 2021 state series is ticked off the list, being under lights was definitely something different and took a couple laps to get the hang of! All ...in all it was certainly a very mixed weekend for the team, after a quite diverse qualifying Shayne ended up on Pole however an oversight on our behalf saw him disqualified for being 1-2 mm too low, putting him to rear of field for race one. Misch definitely found his pace in the wet qualifying quite well in his group. Race 1 was a five lap race, Shayne having to start from 40th he was charging through the field and made up 17 positions finishing up in 23rd. Misch had a decent race still finding his pace finishing up in 17th. Race two, an 8 lapper, Shayne made up another 11 positions this time round finishing up in 11th. Misch retaining his position in 17th. The third and final race was under lights and a 10 lapper, after a really good run all day Shayne lost his pace and ran out of brakes, finishing in 13th. Misch got caught up in a racing incident early in the race, ending up down pit lane and caught up down in 32nd place he charged hard and "Raced the best he ever has" to make it up to 24th. Overall it was a solid weekend for everyone in the Misch's Excel Garage crew and were very proud of everyones efforts! 20.01.2022 Excel garage are hosting a private track/practice day on Thursday 12th November 2020 at Mallala Motorsport Park we are capped at 20 entries and it will be run as a open pit lane (No limit on how many times you enter/ exit the track and no session times) Entries are $250 per vehicle and not limited to drivers so you can share drivers if you wish. 19.01.2022 We made it to the mountain for the MRF Excel Bathurst Challenge. We were up super early this morning for Practice at 7am after arriving and setting up yesterday.... We've got qually up at 11:25am and one race this afternoon at 4pm (remembering Adelaide time is half an hour behind) Unfortunately Misch learnt that there is no room for error here and had an incident coming down the esses, clipping the wall. Some suspension repairs and some hefty panel beating should see him back out on track for qually, thanks to Evolution Crash Repairs (Rob)! 17.01.2022 Two heats done today and we couldn't be happier with the results were achieving! Shayne started P5 in both heats maintaining his position in both and finishing in P5 while having some awesome racing on track with other competitors, he also set the second quickest time in Heat three! Misch started P7 in both of today's heats bringing it home in P7 in his first heat and P9 in his second while also achieving his PB!... 16.01.2022 Qualifying and race 1 today, Qualified 8th out of 37 cars, track was super grippy. Car was a rocket! Come out of 8th for race 1, making a risky decision with... the set up that paid off, loosing a few spots at the start. Managed to bring it home in 7th, while having some awesome battles with other drivers. Also managed to get some air time on the live coverage on FOX 506 and Kayo! 2 more races coming up tomorrow! 12.01.2022 Round Four of the SA State series is done and dusted, overall it was a great weekend for the whole team! Sunday saw three more races for us, two more 5 lap race...s and the 10 lap final. Shayne started the final race out of 8th and Misch out of 17th. It was hectic right from the first corner with Shayne coping a hit in the rear left as a result of a few other incidents happening at the same time, after making it through that there was another major incident a couple laps after on turn 12 which resulted in getting caught up with no where to go, making contact, the car has seen better days but Shayne made it through with a bent car to finish the race in 4th place after two safety cars. Misch had another really good run and managed to make up a few spots and finish in 13th with a PB, avoiding all incidents and not a scratch on the car! Were back for Round 5 at Mallala for a twilight round on the 28th of November, The Wynn's car is off to Evolution Crash Repairs in the mean time for some love! 12.01.2022 Qualifying today didn't quite go to plan with both cars not set up quite right putting us a little off the pace, Shayne started Race 1 in 10th and finishing in 7th but after a few penalties and disqualifications post race he effectively finished 5th. Misch came out of 17th for Race 1 after a few laps getting used to the new car he brought it home in 14th place. Race Two this afternoon went really well for the whole team, with all cars in the top 15! Misch finished up in 13th ...from starting in 14th, making up one position and having a really good run. Shayne had a relatively good race starting from 5th with some really close racing he managed to hold 4th until the last two laps where he lost a few positions, finishing in 6th. We have had engine rebuilds, gearbox rebuilds, roll cage job, some front hub assemblies, a set of wheel alignment bars and we also had our order of new KOYA wheels finally delivered. We have a lot to still get through for the upcoming event at the bend with the Supercars in a few weeks so if you need anything for your car or done to your car before then you best get it sorted ASAP as we are running out of time.
