08.01.2022 How to clean your kettle in four easy steps Step 1: Fill the kettle 1/2 full using a solution of equal parts water and vinegar. Bring the solution to boil and allow the kettle to switch off. Unplug the kettle and allow the solution to sit in the kettle for at least half an hour... Step 2: Pour out the vinegar solution and rinse the kettle again and again with clear water. Be careful not to let the electrical element get wet Step 3: Once all traces of limescale and vinegar have been rinsed away, wipe the kettle with a damp cloth and leave to air dry on your dish rack. If you have a stainless steel kettle, you can dip a soft cloth in a little olive oil and wipe this over the outside surface, polishing it away to leave your kettle gleaming Step 4: When completely dry, plug the kettle in, fill 3/4 full with water and boil. Discard the boiled water.
