17.01.2022 Mark Twain tells of the Dingo " The oldest dog in the universe" Mark Twain said of the dingo........ "I also saw the wild Australian dog - the dingo. He was a beautiful creature, shapely, graceful, a little wolfish in some of his aspects, but with a most friendly eye and sociable disposition. The dingo is not an importation he was present in great force when the whites first came to the continent. It may be that he is the oldest dog in the universe, his origin, his descent, the place where his ancestors first appeared are as unknown and as untraceable as the camel. He is the most precious dog in the world for he does not bark, but in an evil hour he got to raiding sheep runs to appease his hunger and that seals his doom, he is hunted now just as if he were a wolf, he has been sentenced to extermination and the sentence will be carried out.....

17.01.2022 They went with songs to the battle, they were young, Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They ...fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them... #LestWeForget

04.01.2022 !! PARALYSIS TICKS !! We are coming into Tick season Here is some infomation about the deadly Paralysis Tick & Prevention:... "Ixodes holocyclus" is more commonly known as the "Australian paralysis tick" and is considered one of the most medically important in dogs and cats. It can cause paralysis in your pets by injecting 'neurotoxins' into its hosts, frequently with fatal results. What does a Paralysis Tick look like? They tend to be light blue to grey in colour, ranging in size from 2 or 3 millimetres to as large as 10 millimetres, and even the smallest can cause paralysis! They can usually be identified by the position of their legs (all postitioned very closely to the head), the shape of their 'anal groove', and the shape of their head. How can you find a tick on your pet? Although most ticks are found around the head and neck of the animals, they can also be found inside the ears, inside the mouth, and can end up anywhere on the body. It is especially important to search longhaired dogs very thoroughly between the eyes and the end of the nose. The most reliable way to locate ticks is to systematically run your fingers through your cat or dog's coat. Always assume there is more than one tick and continue your systematic search. EVEN ONCE THE TICK HAS BEEN REMOVED YOUR PET CAN CONTINUE TO GET WORSE UP TO FOUR DAYS LATER! YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONTACT YOUR VET IF YOU FIND A PARALYSIS TICK ON YOUR PET! The signs of tick poisoning can include: Early signs: A change in voice; the meow or bark becomes softer and/or changes pitch. Weakness in the back legs; walking along then sitting down suddenly is a common early sign. Vomiting - especially if it happens several times in a day and you see froth. Later signs: Wobbliness in the back legs. Excessive salivation and vomiting Panting, progressing to loud breathing, even grunting noises. Many dogs will exhibit a moist cough and breathing problems before other signs. Worsening signs: As signs of poisoning progress, the animals become unable to stand. Breathing becomes exaggerated and difficult. As breathing becomes more difficult, the gums become cold and blue-tinged. Death follows quite quickly. So, how do you prevent your beloved pet getting a paralysis tick? There are many products you can get to prevent your pet from getting a deadly Paralysis tick. Please remember NO tick product is 100% effective and we highly sugggest still checking your pet over regularly. If you have any concerns that your pet may be exhibiting signs similar to those mentioned above or have pulled a tick off your pet, please contact your regular vet for further advice. Please share this post with all your friends !
