21.01.2022 Has anything changed to stop the Cassowaries being hit & killed on our roads From 2016 there would have been at least 25 birds killed around the Mission Beach area :( Sad to think, their value to tourism is at least one million dollars as commented by Mission Beach Cassowaries ... At least $25 million in tourism assets KILLED OFF than there's Mrs C hit & killed in South Mission Beach, over 50 years she had entertained the tourist and kept people coming back. Mrs C worth would be priceless, however killed after 50 years in her home.. #MissionNews #MissionBeachQLD #CassowaryDeaths

20.01.2022 Philip-Jon "Scammer" Westaway and Craig "Pinocchio" Tatnell have been publicly saying they started this fake U2 story. Caught red handed lying to the Mission Beach community and they are still being delusional in thinking their lies are even correct, how stupid and could be off their medication. Queensland Health needs to submit them both for a mental health assessment and treatment of their delusions.... In 2016 people started the lies about U2 playing for free in Mission Beach in false police reports to Mission Beach Police Station to steal an event they had no permission to be involved. A Queensland Police Service rights to information request has exposed a great number of false, misleading and dishonest stories by community members and a number of police officers at Mission Beach Stupidity at it's finest if people thought karma wouldn't come back on their lies, scams and dishonestly. 02.01.2022 TEMPORARY CLOSURE - Liverpool Creek Bridge located on Silkwood Japoon Road The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will temporally close Liverpool Creek Bridge located on Silkwood Japoon Road near Japoonvale while important maintenance works are carried out. These works are part their regular bridge maintenance program to ensure the continued safety and reliability of the bridge. The works involve removing and replacing the entire aged timber bridge decking and ...running planks on this 43-metre bridge before a new ply deck and asphalt surface is laid. The bridge’s age and design and complexity of the rehabilitation works cannot be completed without full bridge closures. Work crews will be on site from Tuesday 20 October 2020 from 7am to 5pm. For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions under the coordination of traffic controllers will be in place while preparation works are carried out. Expected delays up to 15 minutes. The bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic and pedestrian activities from 7am Monday 26 October to Thursday 26 November 2020, weather permitting. The bridge crew will operate on an 11-day working roster, with a 3-day break. The bridge will be closed for 24-hours during the working schedule and fully open during the 3-day crew break. TMR understands the importance of getting children to school on time and will allow a short window on weekday mornings and afternoons to open the bridge for the school bus. Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on in strategic locations to ensure motorists are aware of the changed traffic conditions. Changes in dates due to weather and more information about road conditions across Queensland’s state-controlled road network is available via the www.QLDTraffic.qld.gov.au website or 13 19 40 Information services If you require further information or you would like an email reminder about the closures please contact Maria Mezes, TMR Communications Support Officer, by email at [email protected] or by telephone on 4045 7038. #MissionNews #MissionBeachQLD www.missionbeachqld.com
