24.01.2022 New Quarantine Rules from 15th June! A message from Our Chief Minister - "From Monday 15 June, arrivals from interstate will transition from mandatory, monitored quarantine to mandatory, self-quarantine.... That means you will no longer be forced to stay in a hotel that is selected by us and secured by us. And there will no longer be a $2500 bill for your quarantine. Arrivals from interstate will be able to choose their own quarantine arrangements as long as it is appropriate, within the guidelines directed by the Chief Health Officer. If youre Territorian at home. If youre a visitor in a hotel, or something similar. Compliance checks will still take place, as well as two mandatory COVID-19 tests within the first 72 hours and last 72 hours of self-quarantine. This change will not apply to people arriving from overseas, including overseas arrivals transiting from interstate. Thank you for helping us keep the Territory the safest place in the country. I will keep doing whatever it takes to save Territory lives, and to save Territory jobs."

VIP guests including the Honourable Paul Kirby (Member of Port Darwin) and CEO of Purple House, Sarah Brown, with performances by Indigenous Elders.... Coles will be raising funds over the next two weeks for Purple house which assists Indigenous health, providing remote dialysis on country to get people home to family and community. 08.01.2022 Message from the Chief Minister: The Northern Territory will end its mandatory quarantine arrangements to all states and territories from 12:01am on Friday 17 July. This morning I received medical advice that community transmission down south is now tracking at an acceptable risk level.... Based on the evidence, our Chief Health Officer recommends a 28-day assessment period before opening our borders which is two COVID-19 replication cycles. That is why we are waiting until next month. From 17 July, arrivals will not have to self-quarantine for 14 days before enjoying the Territory. This gives the rest of Australia four weeks notice, and it gives the Territory four weeks to get ready. It gives businesses time to prepare. It gives us time to market the Territory to visitors. It gives us time to lock in the gains weve made and be absolutely certain we arent putting our progress at risk. 28 days notice makes sure we that we dont stuff this up. The safety of Territorians will always be my priority.

02.01.2022 Foodbank NT is launching their Christmas Hamper Appeal this Friday (30th of October) at the Mitchell Centre! Foodbank will be in the Centre from 9am 12pm with Mix 104.9 broadcasting live outside of Coles. They will be collecting non-perishable goods to help struggling families in the Territory over this Christmas.... Head down to the Mitchell Centre, purchase items from Coles to donate to make this Christmas a little bit easier on those struggling.
