12.01.2022 How do you care for freshly cut flowers from your garden? This time of the year our gardens are bursting with vibrant blooms so why not make everyday a special occasion and bring this beauty indoors too. Some useful tips.... *Use a clean vase and fill with fresh quality water but not freezing cold water, a bit on the warmer side. *Trim the flower stems on an angle so it has more surface to intake the water, always use a sharp sterile knife. *Dont overcrowd the flowers in the vase. *Remove the leaves below the water line. *Change water daily and regularly trim the ends of the flower stems too. *Remove any flowers that begin to wither. *Keep flowers away from any heat source like sunlight, heaters and electrical appliances. Has anyone used preservatives like sugar or vinegar in the water? If you have any other tips, please share them.

08.01.2022 Installation of the new playground at Mitchell Grove has commenced and is located is a lovely area next to the wetlands and lots of grassy open space for the kids to run around, kick the footy and burn off some energy. _ The double swing set caters for young and old with the toddler swing and older childrens swing too. _ The G-Pod Spinner will provide hours of entertainment (perhaps not straight after eating though!).... _ And the Frog has escaped the wetlands and is looking for some springy fun! _ The mulch and edging still needs to be completed before we can open it up but it wont be long.
